We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Kennedy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When my legal partner, Jose Luis Torres, and myself decided it was finally time for us to take the “leap of faith”, if you will, and start our own law firm, we were driven by the overall thought process/idea of wanting to change the legal industry for the better, by modernizing the entire legal process, making it a much less antiquated and outdated process, as well as a much more comfortable and personable process, than it has been in the past, from the initial client consult meeting, all the way to the jury verdict or settlement agreement.

From our experience in this industry, we were very well aware of the fact that most, if not ALL, of our clients were coming to us during a time of sheer desperation, panic, and confusion, without knowing what to do or who to turn to. These people were experiencing some of, if not the, worst day(s) of their lives, and they were turning to US to help them. It became our mission to make each of our clients feel as safe and comfortable as possible, while trusting our firm to handle and take care of their pressing legal issues, and get them the best result/outcome possible. We take our role as our clients’ legal counsel and representatives VERY seriously and hope to help as many individuals through their tough legal times as possible.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The law firm Kennedy & Torres, PLLC was founded by Managing Attorneys Ryan Kennedy and Jose Luis Torres with the following principle in mind: To drastically alter and change the outdated and antiquated legal system and process overall, as a whole, by making it a much more comfortable and personable process, all while zealously and aggressively advocating for every disadvantaged individual who seeks our representation. This founding principle is one of the many factors that has helped set Kennedy & Torres, PLLC apart from all other law firms. We want our clients to come to us feeling comfortable, confident, and trustworthy in our services and representation. We accomplish this goal by keeping each of our clients fully and completely informed and up to date on each of their pending case statuses, as well as maintaining constant communication with our clients, in order to answer all of their questions and address all of their concerns they may have. The attorneys and staff at Kennedy & Torres, PLLC understand that each of our client’s legal issues are unique and individual, and that no two legal issues are the same. We also understand that each of our clients are going through and experiencing what is quite possibly the worst days of their lives, and we want to be there for them every step of the way throughout their legal journey. We know the legal process can be a daunting and intimidating one, so we want to put our clients’ minds at ease and let our strong and skillful litigating do the talking for us.

This journey, and the process that goes along with opening and building a successful law firm, is not an easy one, as it takes constant, persistent, resilient faith and effort, as well as a consistent belief and desire in your work output. We want to offer our help and legal services to anyone and everyone who finds themselves in need of it!

At Kennedy & Torres, PLLC, we specialize in Family Law, Probate & Estate Planning, and personal injury law. However, within and in addition to those three main specialties, the Attorneys at Kennedy & Torres, PLLC also handle a vast array of other legal issues, such as real property document drafting, execution, and transactions, guardianships, immigration issues, entity formation and organization, legal document review and drafting, and contract law, to name a few. The skilled and aggressive attorneys at Kennedy & Torres, PLLC are ready, willing, and above all, EXCITED to offer their legal representation to anyone who finds themselves in need of it. We know and understand that everyone’s life experiences and circumstances are different, and we want to do whatever we can to help those disadvantaged underdogs in need.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would most definitely take them to Galveston and let them enjoy our beautiful Texas coastline, while enjoying THE ABSOLUTE BEST tex-mex and seafood they have undoubtedly ever had in their lives. I would also be sure to take them to the numerous fun and educational museums located in downtown Houston, as well as a play or musical in the arts district, before ending the night/week at a music and fun-filled bar/restaurant in either Midtown or The Heights, where there’s never a shortage of large groups of people, blaring music, good food, and better times.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout, as well as all of my success and happiness in my life, to my gorgeous, supporting, loving, and intelligent wife and lifelong best friend, Kelsey Kennedy. MY LOVE…without you in my life, by my side, NONE of this, or ANY of the good and positive outcomes and events in my life, would have been even remotely possible! You keep me strong and motivated, all while continuously encouraging me to be the very best person and Attorney I can be. Thank you for ALL that you have done, and will do, for me and our family. I love you.
