We had the good fortune of connecting with Sage Roman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sage, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of my organization is my community. The people who come to my events, share the news and support, are the entire reason I create.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a creative, I feel that we’re all different. We all have different things that set us apart. I would say that what sets me apart is my attention to detail. That’s how I got where I am today! It takes me months to put on the events I do, but it’s always so worth it in the end and is always exactly as I planned. Our last event Nebulae was our first and we had a turn out of 70 people! For a first event I couldn’t be more proud!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite things to do in the city are to go to pop-up events and dance parties! You’ll always hear me taking about events like Physical Therapy and Shegotmelovestoned! The best places to go are the places where we’re able to just enjoy the moment!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
LinkUpHTX and Oqupi are how I got my start! I was curious about the field of becoming a creative director and was looking for a way to meet people and learn more. When LinkUpHTX held their “Creative Summit”, it felt like the perfect opportunity. I quickly met so many people and ended up getting so much love and support from my community.
