We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Rodarte and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Our thoughts and passion of woodwork art was to be able to do something we love, be able to generate and support people’s remembrances that will last them a lifetime.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets us apart from others is that my husband and I are each other’s backbone. We want to make sure that everyone instills a lifetime memory of our art with memorable pictures. My husband and I have been challenged with many obstacles including an explosion at his workplace and with the pandemic that caused him to lose his job. But that did not stop us from pursuing our dreams. Our dream was one day to own our own business. Our business has done so well my husband decided to quit his current job to do this full time.

We are very excited to see where this road will take us, we can see only good things from here on out.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When it’s crawfish season we love to go hangout with family and friends at Hans Crawfish in Tomball, TX. They are the best in town! If you were to ask the hubby he would say if I could eat it every day, and I would! Haha

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband learned his trade by his dad who has done carpentry over 40+ years. During the summer when Sal was young, he would take him to work to teach him the basics. I would also love to give a shoutout to my older sister Samantha from Balloonistahtx who gave us the idea to start our small business. She came to my husband asking him to create some backdrops for her small business and encouraged us both to go ahead and start R Custom Backdrops. So, we made the leap, now our business has bloomed with extensive number of hours creating backdrops. Our clients are keeping us super busy gracefully. Without them and God we wouldn’t be where we are at today. And last but not least we want to give a shout out to Backdrop G and Sweet Caroline Creation HTX for all the inspiration to start our business, we thank you!
