We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
After my daughter was born I started to think about ways I could create other streams of income. I started brainstorming different businesses and researching what it took to open but could not decide on one. I wanted to make sure that once I opened a business I would become successful and not fail at it. Many months passed by and I finally realized what I was good at and enjoyed doing.
I have always been huge on celebrating everything from the smallest milestones to each and every holiday. I knew I could become successful in the party planning industry because I love to decorate and plan. That is when I ran with the idea and opened up Houston One Stop.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My mission is to help create a memorable moment or gift. I make customized items such as shirts, tumblers, goodie bags, coffee mugs, acrylic signs, wood signs, koozies, and much more. I only recommend other small businesses that have done great work in the past for myself or someone I personally know if I cannot create it. In addition I provide event planning services for any type of occasion with set up included. If you only need us to set up your decorations we can gladly do that as well.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you come down to Houston one of the spots you have to stop by is the POST HTX. They have a nice food court with many options to choose from with a fun roof top area. You would have to also check out all our murals in Downtown. We have a beautiful water wall in the Galleria area and a very cute garden which is called McGoverns Centennial. Some of the best places to eat and grab some drinks are Present Company, Truck Yard, Clutch Bar, Churrascos, Pitch 25 Beer Park, Wild (CBD lovers), Flower Child, Mi Pueblito (Richmond area), and TJ Birria y más. These are just some of the great spots we have here. My list could go on and on.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is not just one person to thank for all the success. Each order received has got me where I am now. Without family, friends and the great Houston community we would not be in business. I am very thankful for everyone that has put their trust in my work.
