Meet Sambrina Dunlap | Houston Certified Permenant Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sambrina Dunlap and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sambrina, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
My name is Sambrina and I was born ad raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Although many people have the automatic perception about “Vegas” being the party city or “sin city” and many people don’t know that actual people are Las Vegans. I was raised in a very rough area in Las Vegas called North Las Vegas. My family is the core to my success in life. My mother, who raised me as a single mother with the help of my belated grandmother is what created the independency and strong will that I have today. My grandmother was a single mother of 9 kids where my grandfather was not much of father figure to my mom and her siblings. My mother was the oldest so she had to help raise her sibling by working at a very young age. Both my mother and grandmother were hard workers and were determined to overcome challenges and obstacles they faced. Because of their sacrifices and perseverance is what pushed me to be better than them although that had HUGE shoes to fill.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Sambrina and I am the founder and artist behind Incredibrowz and Beyond. I specialize in the art of Semi-permanent Ombre Brows which is the current and hottest permanent makeup brow technique today. This hot trend of makeup is ideal for any types unlike the traditional microblading technique. I have always had a burning passion for the beauty industry. For many years, I did freelance makeup which I gained exposure to the beauty world which finally led me to Permanent Makeup. In 2018, I attended my first Microblading class trained and this training gave me the fire to learn more about this industry. Standing out in this industry is a difficult task because there are some many talented PMU artist but in order to be the best of the best, i strive to continue staying abreast on the latest in this industry and that is striving to grow my skill set by completing trainings. Ombre powder brows is a luxury service however I stand out from other permanent makeup artist is that service everyone without breaking the bank. I provide quality brow service for a semi=permanent brow that last up to three years or if my clients are needing a more affordable service, I also order quality brow tint service that last up to 3 weeks so EVERYONE can wake up to fabulous INCREDIBROWZ This My ultimate goal is to make each of my clients look and feel their absolute best! My mission is to provide a relaxing atmosphere where clients’ needs are met and expectations are surpassed.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Every one knows when they come to Houston, I am thee BEST hostess. I would plan to show them what Houston has to offer. I absolutely love crawfish so for starters we will go to one of the best crawfish spots in Houston and enjoy some live music on an outdoor patio to enjoy the nice Houston weather. Secondly, we would go to one of the fine arts museums here in Houston and explore some wonderful art and culture. The nightlife in Houston is the best so we would hit the town and go to a nice bar or lounge on Washington or in the Mid town area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This story is dedicated to two individuals that are super important in my life and have a major contribution to my success this far. I want to recognize my mother Valerie Yates and my son Brandon Johnson Jr.

My mother, Valerie Yates is who pushed me to be the best vision of myself. She always motivated me to be better than her. She explain to me about life and how hard it can be if I don’t make the correct choices. She motivated me to go to college and obtain my B.S in Biology. My mom was the person who told me to be a sister soulja when I thought I wasn’t able to defeat the most difficult obstacles in life. My mother grew up extremely poor so she did whatever to make sure that my brother had all of the things we needed in life and not being spoiled with the wants but yet thought us how to work hard for whatever we wanted.

My son, the one who pushes my everyday to make sure he don’t have to work for nothing in this world is the second person I dedicate my success to. He gives me the strength to keep going when I feel like I don’t have the energy to continue to go and he give me the motivation to strive to be the best in this industry.
