Meet Saniya Smith | Owner of Majesti Cosmetics

We had the good fortune of connecting with Saniya Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Saniya, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have a passion for lipgloss because I love my lips. My favorite feature about myself is my lips and smile. When applying a perfect coat of lipgloss or lipstick I notice how beautiful my smile appears and I love the confident boost I feel on the inside. So I turned something I love into something great so that every young girl or woman feels that confident boost that I felt when I applied my gloss.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets Majesti Cosmetics lip line apart from other brands is not only will our lip products leave your lips looking glamorous with our hydrating lip products, but all of our lip products are moisturizing, glossy and non sticky. Our Matte line doesn’t leave your lips looking dry nor crack, instead it leaves them with a stunning appearance that will have you wanting more. Having the drive and determination to know I can go after my dreams and turn them into reality is something I admire about myself. I find myself the most excited about how I’m witnessing my own growth in my brand being able to have the opportunities to have pop up shops, photoshoots and business opportunities doing something i love. Although I’m very appreciative of how far I’ve come with my brand, the process wasn’t always smooth. I’ve encountered plenty of challenges,but the outcome was always positive. Learning that I’m able to find a way out of any situation I’m faced with; having trust in God that I’ll always be able to find light in any dark situation is what keeps me going. One message I would love to let the world know would be: to never allow any difficulties or challenges you face in life to stop your dreams. Everything is possible if you believe in yourself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some places I would love to take my bestfriend out to eat would be Crafty Crab, Kiss, Grand Lux, and Babin’s. Those are some places that I enjoy eating at. I love having a good time so some places we would visit and hang out at would be the Butterfly Exhibit, Kemah Boardwalk, and riding the scooters downtown. As much as I love working on my passion I love having a great time and experiencing different things.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The woman that deserves the most recognition and plays an important role in my story is my mother. Many people said they believed in me ,but no one exemplified it like her. Not only with providing me with a strong foundation and allowing me to build on it. By helping a young teenager that most would underestimate turn my dreams into reality. When i thought my dreams were impossible she proved to me that nothing is impossible and for that i will forever be grateful.
