We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Luna Gonzales and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sara, what is the most important factor behind your success?
By far the most important factor behind my success is being a devotee to La Santa Muerte. I have devoted my life to representing her and invoking her to heal my people. The latino community.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I currently own and operate two spiritual/occult shops. We empower & uplift the communities in Hays County, Texas.
What sets our shops apart from others is that everything in our shops are home made , hand poured and enchanted for our clients.
Monday-Friday you can find us at our Buda location, 3rd Eye Mystic.
Every Saturday & Sunday you can find us at our original location, Texicana Candle Company in Kyle Flea Market. We are ready to serve “our gente” Rain or shine. 100° or 30°, we are open every single weekend to serve the community in Kyle.
At both locations we offer tarot readings, cleanses/limpias, spiritual talks and so much more. Our Kyle location has a community altar for Santa Muerte, free to her devotees and those curious of her movement. We also offer classes at the Kyle location.
Lastly, I work part time over nights at
HEB. HEB is known for serving all of Texas in times of need. Naturally I was attracted to HEB because we have the same mission. To serve our communities!
Nothing easy is worth having. I definitely had many challenges throughout out my journey. Nothing or nobody can stop me! I truly believe in the statement “You are your ancestors wildest dreams”
I have more opportunities than my ancestors had. So I learned to dig deep in my faith to have the motivation, determination and perseverance to accomplish all my dreams.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m an old soul. So if I had the opportunity to schedule a full day for friends and family I would definitely visit all the old mom and pop antique stores, occult stores. We would also dine at small businesses, tons of places in Austin and surrounding with amazing home made food!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My elders, ancestors and mentors definitely deserve the shout out. I am who I am today, because of their help.
My grandmother, the healer of our family, who planted the seed in me to be a healer and spirtualist. My grandmother had a holistical remedy and prayer for everything.
Mr.Richard West at City General Store in East Austin. City General Store has been open over 40 years and Mr. West has advised my grandmother, mother and now myself. His store was our go to store for all of our spiritual merchandise needs.
David and Monica at Botanica La Caridad in San Antonio, Texas. This family owned Botanica has been in operation for over 30 years. Botanica La Caridad was my first consignment and they have taught me so much about business and spirituality. They are my go to when I’m in need of spiritual care.
My ancestors who protect and guide me daily. Their spiritual influence is what keeps me going when times are tough.
