We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Alhadeethi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I consider myself as a risk-taking person, and I enjoy the attempts of taking the risk and the outcomes they bring. Risky experiences are always worth the try. I always remind myself of one inspiring story that I’ve been through when I first came to the U.S. I had no experience, no guidance, and no language. But I remember taking the first opportunity to apply to a job, and on the day of the interview, when the interviewer asked for volunteers who could sell her an item, I had to make the choice of stepping up and presenting myself even when knowing that I had not mastered the english language, nor had the experience. I took that leap, tried my best, and for not being hesitant, I was the only one who got accepted for the effort I made. and I became better and better in that job.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I practice graphic design, and recently got into the UX/UI design as well as an extension of what I do. Art for me is a way of communication, and the more I sail into it, the more I discover how fascinating art can be, I believe my vision is what sets me apart, and that I have my own voice; other artists inspire me to facilitate my methods and become my own brand. As I mentioned before, I enjoy taking risks in life generally, and art specifically to get to where I am today where no fixed roof is set to limit my abilities, I’m always expanding and learning new skills. It was not easy, but I appreciate all the ups and downs in my journey. No expectations are set, and no rules are determined, I have learned that breaking out of the comfort zone is a way of growing, and I present myself as a brand for appreciating art, and upgrading communication skills, I’d like to see myself as inspiration to younger generations.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First places come to my mind are Fine Art and Natural Science museums. I like open spaces, so I would take my friends to Hermann Park, NASA is a must-go to as well. when the Rodeo season is on, I would never miss a visit. And when getting funky and playful, we would go to Candytopia to enjoy the creativity and deliciousness as we take lots of photos for Social media. I would also dedicate a day for Rice University to take a tour. As it is known that Houston is diverse, it is no secret that food in Houston is very delicious ! I would take them to a local BBQ place to try brisket and steak. for sure we would not miss a Tex-Mex meal. Finally, we would go shopping at Galleria mall.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Growing up, I have always found my inspiration and mentorship surrounding me everywhere. coming from middle-eastern culture rich in architecture, calligraphy, abstracts, and Islamic art, I have always found my tools to mix the eastern and western styles due to the many places I’ve been into. I realized that everyone can become someone they dream to be. I would shoutout for my rich culture, and the tools it provided to me to become who I am today.
