We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Lillian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Initially, I just wanted to share my personal journey. As time progressed it became apparent that this was much more than just MY journey. I wanted to help others understand they can live a lifestyle without restrictions. I wanted to help others find THEIR power. Through online coaching and social media I have been able to show others how to live more flexible through exercise, food, and connection to the mind.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I started TFBO I wasn’t sure what route I wanted to take. Did I want to be a personal trainer, a bodybuilder, an online coach, or all of the above? I started in 2016, but took a break from 2019-early 2022 due to some personal reasons. Growing a business and brand online certainly is one of the hardest but most rewarding things I have ever done.
The key is consistency. I may not have 10k followers, but if I am making an impact on even one person, I am serving my purpose.
I would say the thing that sets me apart from other creators in the industry is I never try to mask who I am. We are all human, and I will always choose to be vulnerable and honest with my clients and followers.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So I am definitely a creature of habit and need to do better at taking advantage of everything houston has to offer, so I don’t know all the cool places but I certainly have a list of places I enjoy!
If my bestie was here for a week I would absolutely take her to the following places:
•The museum district on Thursdays because they’re free that day and amazing
•The Arboretum & the Japanese gardens
•The food truck park on chimney rock & westheimer
•Tia Maria’s Mexican Restaurant for happy hour
•NASA because it’s obligatory and always incredible to see
•Texas T Tavern, my favorite local bar and truly one of the best places to become friends with everyone
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Truly without the support of my friends, family & clients…I would not be The Fitty Bitty One.
I specifically want to thank a few people.
My mother, who has never given up on me. Through some of my darkest moments, you have never turned your back and truly pushed me to my greatest potential.
My stepmom, who did not need to, but chose to step up and support me when I needed it most.
Lastly, my best friend Shelby. Without you and your consistent pushing to make TFBO known…I don’t know if I would have had the courage to truly step out of my comfort zone and fully commit to my passion. I am forever grateful.
