We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Neal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always loved photography and fashion ever since I was a kid. I own two of my own businesses: Angelic Rose Boutique (an online boutique) and Sarah Neal Photography. While I am a college student studying dental hygiene, I wanted to do something I loved as a career as well. Whenever I go shopping, I always get upset or mad because nothing ever fits right, there’s never a variety of size options, and it can be discouraging. One day after trying to find just one outfit, and going home empty handed, I realized I wanted to start my own boutique that would carry clothes of all styles and as many sizes as I can. Starting off small, my options are currently limited, but as the business grows, my main priority will be to find clothes that are cute and actually fit everyone.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started my business this year, in July. The fun part of the planning process included finding clothes to sell, creating social media accounts, and having photoshoots of products. The not so fun was investing a lot of my own money into the business. While I am still a small business, I have a lot of ideas of where my business and go.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Taste of Texas for some if the best steak ever. I love ice skating so I would take them to the Aerodrome. Find local taco trucks for some tacos, and maybe see what concerts are going on that day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents are and always have been a huge part of my success. They have always encouraged me to do what makes me happy, and when I told them I wanted to open my own business, they were nothing but supportive and helped me in any way they could.
