We had the good fortune of connecting with Scotty Lindsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scotty, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When the word ‘risk’ crosses my mind, I always think ‘rewards’. Some people may try to avoid risks, but we must understand that life itself is a risk: marrying the one you love is a risk, taking a new job is a risk, going on a vacation is a risk. Everything in life is a risk. If I’m going to live the way I intend to live, I must be willing to take risks. I never wanted to be ordinary, I wanted to be extraordinary. The only difference between the two is, I am willing to go the extra mile to live the way most could only dream about. Taking risks, has allowed me to network with people that can steer my career in the right direction. But know that your circle of friends will get smaller as you continue to advance. Not everyone is willing to step outside those comfort zones. If you look back at the life of some of the most successful pioneers of our time, they were different. They created their own path to success by taking risks and being different.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is all about change. I’m looking to transform more Absolutely Amazing people around the world. Absolutely Amazing Me represents who we are, a team comprised of absolutely amazing people with amazing stories. I interviewed all staff members before they became a part of the team. I want to feel the passion in their voice as they convey their story to me. I ensure they are a great fit for the team. All staff members’ stories resonate with someone around the world. If people can relate, they’re willing to listen. Absolutely Amazing Me is all about change. We can help change your mindset about your health which can definitely change your entire life. Over the years, I’ve pondered about different ways to bring awareness to the obesity epidemic that’s on the rise. It disturbs me that people are oblivious to their own body. We shouldn’t need a doctor and/or friend to tell us we need to lose weight. Self-awareness is one of the key components regarding change. If you’re not willing to face your reality, you’ll never change your reality. We have changed thousands of lives in the short time we have been in business. The key to our success is simplicity. People despise complicated tasks – plans that require them to think too much or require too much attention will lead them to give up. We have been successful because our program is simple: do your part, the program will do the rest. Over 70 participants were invited to take the 3-month challenge. They were given a tea of a proprietary blend of herbs and were instructed to take it every morning for 3 months on an empty stomach. When the 3-month challenge ended, 90 percent of the participants received tremendous results. We are on a mission to change the world. Obesity is on the rise, but we are too. If we can reach their mind before the bad food saturates their body, we have another Absolutely Amazing story.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t hangout as much as I used to, but I still know where some of the hot spots are in the city. I’m a more seasoned guy now, so my hot spots are a little different compared to when I was in my 20’s.  A great happy hour spot on Friday is The Rustic, a chill place for a drink and casual conversation. Get freshened up and head to dinner. Now, there are many great restaurants in the H, but Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse is my go-to spot for dinner. The environment there is amazing. On Saturday, it’s mandatory to start your day off with a morning workout. The adage I use is, “if you don’t look good, it’s hard to feel good.” After a nice intense workout, the Breakfast Club is an awesome spot to fuel up on some healthy/unhealthy food. Marcus has done an amazing job branding that spot. The last place to visit before prepping for a night out is the Galleria.  The Galleria is all about good shopping. It’s imperative you pick up a new outfit for the evening. Your walk, talk, attire and physique will speak to the crowd without you saying a word.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My upbringing has played a significant role in my success. When you grow up in the hood, there’s nothing you haven’t seen. I’ve seen prostitution, drug deals gone bad, fights, dog fights and the list goes on. However, illegal activities usually lead to individuals suffering the consequences for their actions, and, when that happens, it makes you think twice about your own actions. Choosing the wrong path was tempting at times because I saw how lucrative it could be on the other side. But I knew that one wrong move could cost me everything so I chose to stay on the straight and narrow. I was distracted many of times, but I knew the consequences for those illegal activities, and I wasn’t willing to take any risks. My mother and grandmother taught me the value of hard work. Watching them at a young age instilled that hard work quality in me. They would always complain about the long arduous hours, but they showed no signs of defeat. So, when I was of age to take on a job, I gave it my all. I made sure I knew everyone’s responsibilities. When you know everyone’s responsibilities, you become irreplaceable and that much of an asset to the company. Remember, I wanted to be extraordinary. I eventually found a love for reading books on some of the greats like Steve Jobs, Donald Trump, Warren Buffet and Colonel Sanders. I was so fascinated by their story, it forced me to level up. If you’re running low on hope, I highly recommend you read the book, “Think & Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. This book was definitely a life changer for me.
