We had the good fortune of connecting with Seyda Price and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Seyda, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is my mindset. I have a winner mentality and I don’t shy away from taking risks. Let’s accept the fact that running your own business has its pros and cons so you should be ready to face those risks when you start your own brand. Working hard when the times are tough had brought me where I am today.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I was born and raised in Turkey and I came to the USA 12 years ago. English and living in a different culture were my biggest barriers at first. I didn’t know if I would “fit in” or if I could survive in this big industry of fitness. Even a lot of my friends in Turkey mentioned it’ll be hard for me to make money, find clients, use my knowledge due to the language barrier and most importantly “fit in” but I was stubborn enough to prove them all wrong.

First, I got multiple Personal Trainer Certifications to educate myself more in the field even though I had my bachelors in Sports Management. Second, I applied to a local gym to hire me as a Personal Trainer and worked early hrs in the mornings and later hours in the evenings to double my clientele base. Of course my personality helped a bunch. Being good with people and having a genuine interest to help change their lives were my biggest drive. The more I helped people the more I loved the job. It was only after a year and a half I was able to rank up to the highest level of personal trainers and became a Master Personal Trainer. I worked at the same club as Master Trainer for 8.5 years.
Then in 2020 the pandemic hit and our club had shut down indefinitely. Not only that but it was only 2 months after I gave birth to my 2nd baby girl and here I was with no job and no income as a fresh postpartum mom. Those were probably the hardest times of my life and my career but I didn’t let it stop me. First I started training my gym clients online and started sending them weekly workout videos. I wanted to help them during those tough times but also helped myself financially and physically to bring some income and stay active as a postpartum mom. Then it grew and other moms started reaching out to me via Instagram because they were seeing my own Postpartum body transformations as well as my other mom clients’.

Then as time went on and my husband and I turned our garage to a small gym and now I operate and train my 1:1 personal training clients in our garage gym along with my online and zoom workouts.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love Kemah Boardwalk as a family since there are a lot of attractions and restaurants for the kids and adults. I also love taking my Turkish friends when they visit us to Nasa Space Center, Galveston and Downtown Houston to have a good time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest supporters are my 2 beautiful daughters, my mom and my husband. I dedicate my work to my daughters because when they get older I want them to see what their moms have created out of nothing.
My husband has a great impact of my work and I always get his opinion when I’m in doubt. There are times I have to work while we’re on family vacation and he’s always there for me to support me.
