We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaneeka R Abram and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaneeka R, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I established my business with the goal of helping small minority businesses compete on the same level as larger corporations. Drawing on my experience in Corporate America, I aim to provide the knowledge and expertise necessary for success. Many people are unaware of essential components for positioning themselves for success, including proper business formation, well-structured marketing campaigns, establishing an online presence, and managing contracts and copyrights.

What should our readers know about your business?
Abundant Solutions Consulting is a full service marketing and consulting agency. What sets us aside from other agencies is our dedication to providing small and minority businesses the opportunity to compete on the same level as larger corporations, through strategic consulting, advertising, digital marketing and brand development. For my agency to reach the current level we’re at today took a lot of blood sweat and tears, from countless networking events to share my business with others, and taking on passion projects, which I still do to this day as my portion of giving back to my community. I invest in marketing, advertising and take courses to gain more knowledge to be the best in my field. I used the knowledge and skills, I learned in Corporate America in various roles I had as a software developer, corporate technical trainer and project manager as the foundation to grow my business and I use those same skills to help grow our clients businesses. It wasn’t easy and it is still a learning and growing process. Once you open a business you’ll find yourself continuously learning new ways to grow, new processes that need to be put in place and new laws and regulations that you have to be in compliance with.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d first start out by going to brunch at Tupelo Honey one if the newest brunch spots in downtown Indianapolis. Since it’s May, we will go to the Indiana Motor Speedway to view the qualifying pre-race day Indy 500 festivities in a private suite with some of my other business partners.

Next, we’d go to the Indianapolis Art Museum and go to the interactive art exhibit The Lume. We’d grab a bite to eat at Agave and Rye a new restaurant in downtown Indy that is known for their different types of tacos and tequila. They have a taco called the Crowned Jewel that’s made with lobster, mushrooms and Mac n cheese.

We will visit Daniels Vineyard a winery in acres of land to go to one of the summer concert series on the lawn. Take pottery and candle-making classes. Attend an Indiana Fever game and cheer on Caitlyn Clark and the rest of the team. Get our sweet tooth fix at the newest bakery called The Cavity Factory, which is known for their different take on gourmet cookies. We will also go to Lift Off Creamery, an ice cream shop owned by pilot Ryan Lynch, proceeds of sales go towards his aviation program for the youth. We’d end our week spending time with family and friends since she was originally a native and moved after high school.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents of course. I was blessed to have 4. My mother and father both remarried all of my parents made sure that I had the best training in whatever I showed interest in. Most importantly mother. She had Multiple Sclerosis,I was fortunate to have four parents – my mother, father, and their respective spouses. They all supported me in pursuing my interests, providing me with the best training possible. My mother, in particular, was a huge influence on me. Despite battling Multiple Sclerosis, she continued to encourage and support me until her last days. I even started my business while sitting by her bedside at the hospice, designing websites, creating marketing content, and conducting virtual coaching sessions. She always spoke positively about me and my business, which was incredibly motivating. My children also played a significant role in the inception of my business, as it began as a side hustle to support their participation in AllStar and Travel Sports. Some influential books for me have been The Bible, Slight Edge by Jeff Olson, The Perfect Day To Be A Boss by Rick Ross, and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F%ck by Mark Manson. but as her health deteriorated over the years up until her dying days she always poured into me and I built my business at her hospice bedside, designing websites, marketing content and doing virtual coaching sessions. My mother continued to speak life over me and my business. Also my children, my business started out as a side hustle to help cover their AllStar and Travel Sports. Books : The Bible, Slight Edge by Jeff Olson, The Perfect Day To Be A Boss by Rick Ross and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F%ck by Mark Manson.
