Meet Shania Anthony | Sports Recovery specialist & Integrated Manual Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shania Anthony and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shania, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The decision to start my own business stems from a deep personal and professional alignment. Years of high-level training and competition exposed me to the critical role recovery plays in performance, injury prevention, and longevity. Experiencing the benefits of techniques like cupping, myofascial release, and assisted stretching firsthand inspired a passion for bodywork that extends beyond the track. Now that I’m immersed in chiropractic education, I’m building a strong foundation in anatomy, biomechanics, and rehabilitation—knowledge that directly enhances my ability to serve others through recovery services. Launching a business while still in school reflects both my entrepreneurial mindset and my desire to fill a gap I recognize in the health and wellness industry: accessible, athlete-informed recovery care. By merging my athletic experience with clinical training, I’m not only creating opportunities to support others on their journey to optimal performance and wellness, but also laying the groundwork for a future integrated practice where recovery, rehabilitation, and chiropractic care work hand-in-hand.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey has been anything but easy, but every step has been worth it. I graduated high school at just 16 years old and earned a full Division I track scholarship, which led me to four incredible years of competing at a high level. That athletic background taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of recovery — all of which planted the seed for the work I do now. Currently, I’m pursuing my Doctorate of Chiropractic in a rigorous 3.5-year program, with graduation set for April 2026. It’s a grind that has tested me mentally, physically, and emotionally, and there were countless moments when I truly didn’t think I could keep going. But having real support in your corner makes all the difference. People don’t see the sacrifices behind closed doors — the blood, sweat, and tears that go into chasing a dream — but I’ve lived it.
What sets my business apart is that it’s more than a service — it’s a reflection of my roots and my mindset. As a proud South Louisiana native, I carry a strong sense of community, grit, and hospitality into everything I do. My recovery business blends evidence-based therapeutic practices with an athlete’s perspective and a healer’s touch. I don’t just treat the body — I understand it from both the competitive and clinical sides. I’m most proud of turning my passion into purpose, creating something that not only helps others feel better but empowers them to move better and live stronger.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know, it’s that this brand is built on faith, fight, and fierce ambition. My story is still being written, and I’m just getting started.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit Houston for a week, I’d make sure they got the full experience — from the culture to the food to the city vibes. We’d kick things off with brunch at The Breakfast Klub, a true Houston staple known for its wings and waffles, then take a walk through Hermann Park to relax and catch up. Dinner at Lucille’s would set the tone for the trip — elevated Southern comfort food with a touch of history — followed by drinks at High & Dry Rooftop for city views and a toast to reunion.
The next day would be all about culture. We’d visit the Museum of Fine Arts, grab a fresh lunch at Local Foods in Rice Village, then head to Project Row Houses in Third Ward to take in Houston’s deep-rooted creativity and community. Dinner would be at the iconic Rouxpour for that over-the-top foodie experience, and we’d finish the night with live music at House of Blues or a laid-back lounge in Midtown.
For outdoor adventure, we’d explore Buffalo Bayou Park — maybe rent bikes or go kayaking for a little skyline cardio. After working up an appetite, we’d hit The Pit Room in Montrose for some real-deal Texas BBQ, stroll through the neighborhood’s funky shops and murals, and later dine at Eunice for Louisiana-inspired dishes that feel like home. Dessert? A scoop from Sweet Cup Gelato, of course.
Midweek, would be all about wellness — starting with morning yoga at Black Swan or Soul Tribes, followed by brunch at Snooze. Then it’s recovery time at my studio, where I’d give them the full treatment — cupping, stretching, myofascial work — so they feel brand new. We’d end the evening with a spa visit or float therapy session, and keep dinner light at Flower Child.
Toward the end of the trip, we’d turn up the glam. We’d spend a day shopping at The Galleria, then head to Nobu for a stylish sushi lunch. After strolling through River Oaks District, we’d dress up for a night out with dinner at Mastro’s or Steak 48, followed by dancing and DJ vibes at Kamp Houston or The Address.
On the final day, we’d slow things down with coffee and pastries from Common Bond, maybe go to Sunday service or take a peaceful walk through Menil Park. And before they leave, we’d sit down for one last meal — probably at Brennan’s — to reflect on the week, laugh about the memories, and toast to friendship, growth, and good times in H-Town.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Big shoutout to the real ones who’ve been part of this journey from day one — my amazing mother and my four siblings, who have been my foundation, my strength, and my motivation. You’ve seen every high, every low, and never stopped believing in me. To my college friends who watched me grind on the track and evolve off of it — thank you for pushing me, inspiring me, and reminding me who I am even when I questioned it. And to my friends I have pursued along the way, your energy, support, and shared hustle keep me grounded and growing. Every piece of my entrepreneurial story is rooted in the love, lessons, and loyalty I’ve been blessed with from all of you. This business isn’t just mine — it’s a reflection of everyone who helped build it with me.
