We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharelle Reed and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sharelle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a mother of four, I find myself always planning events. I can attest to how costly event supply rentals can be. Events have been my passion for as long as I can recall, and now I have the opportunity to offer cost efficient event supplies to others. The only opposition that was standing in my way was me. A good friend of mines told me that I just need to “start”! My ultimate goal is to expose my children to several career options, one being a successful entrepreneur.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Abundant Supplies and More is designed to meet client expectations and help alleviate stress while planning special events. Our goal is to provide quality and efficient event supplies and extraordinary customer service. I’ve worked in the corporate field for many years and 2021 was the first year that I had the courage to step out and start my own business! I am most proud of myself, because now I have exposed my children to entrepreneurship.
Some of the supplies that I offer are tables, chairs, tents, back drops and some decor.

What sets my business apart from most Event Supply Rental Companies is that we offer Hostess Services. I’ve hosted too many parties where I was running crazy and was not in a single picture by the end of the party. With my Hostess Services clients can truly enjoy their event. I provide customized services, such as game hosting, light photography and I assist with refills on the basic party refreshments. Another bonus that sets us apart is that we offer Life Size Games. The games can be used for additional entertainment for any party, family reunions, school or church event.

One thing I know is….there will always be something to celebrate! I am most excited when I see the smiles on my clients faces and when I see their guests having a blast!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In my opinion Houston is the BEST place to be! As a Houston Native, I too am always discovering new places to visit! If I had to show my friend a good time for one week, we would definitely visit the following places: The Turkey Leg Hut, Juliet, The Rustic, The Warwick, JOEY Uptown, Z on23, Lucille’s, Trez Bistro & Wine Bar, Amore Reflexology, Rooftop Cinema, Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, The Peoples Rink, Cidercade, Discovery Green, The Musuem of Fine Arts, Miller Outdoor Theatre, 3rd Ward Bike Tours, Aerial Silk, The Game Show Challenge, Escape Room and MORE!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my loving and gracious father above, my husband, my children, my mom, my siblings and my close friends. These individuals have been a constant support. The sacrifices, the encouragement, the marketing and the mentorship has truly been amazing!
