We had the good fortune of connecting with Shatera Clarke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shatera, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my business has been my desire for constant improvement in every aspect of entrepreneurship. My focus and goal of each event is to continually provided better designs than the last. What has helped me to achieve this has been my ability to evolve in my business knowledge, production, and presentation. Another important distinction with Posh Balloons, LLC is that our clients are heard and even when they may not be certain on their complete vision, we are able to connect the gaps and provide the results they envisioned.

I definitely wouldn’t have gotten this far without trusting God’s vision and plan for me life and I am beyond grateful for His guidance. I’ve learned, through becoming a business owner that although things may not always turn out as expected, there is absolutely a lesson along every step of the journey and it’s always worth it!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I first tried my hand with balloon design in 2018. After ALOT of practice, videos, and classes, I officially started by business, Posh Balloons, in 2019 and got my LLC in 2020. The thing that I’m most proud of is the growth that I’ve seen in my skillset and business knowledge over this time; it’s truly a testament the statement, “if I knew then, what I know now.” The event industry is definitely one of constant change and one of the things that has gotten me to the point that I’m at today, has been my ability to update and modify techniques and designs based on the ever-changing needs of the industry. Some of the greatest lessons that I’ve learned since starting my business are to never doubt myself, trust my vision, be flexible with my approach, listen to the clients, never stop educating myself, and to always give and present my very best, because you never know who’s watching. Posh Balloons, LLC is constantly improving, growing, and advancing and I am so proud of how far I’ve come over these two years. The world should know that the greatest is yet to come because Posh Parties are truly the best Parties!


Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting the area a few places that I would recommend are: Thirteen Houston, Steak48, Breakfast Club, The Color Factory, 77 Degree, Wonder Bar, Lost & Found, Grace’s, Kirby & Chapman, Taste Bar, Discovery Green, Hermann Park, and Pour Behavior, just to name a few.

I would like to dedicate my shoutout piece to my family and very dear friends who have supported, encouraged, and lended helping hands when I needed them most. You are truly appreciated and this success wouldn’t be as sweet without you! Thank you!
