We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaune Stauffer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaune, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am a native Houstonian, my mom owned a cosmetic store in the Galleria during my childhood years. I wanted to be a model for as long as I can remember, but did not know how to get involved in the industry. When I was in high school, agent Page Parkes came to our school to give a talk and invited to meet with the agency. The following week, I signed a contract with them. I couldn’t believe it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Every time I shoot a photo, I think of it as a blank canvas and I am creating art on the canvas. It is up to the model to bring his or her own unique touch to the photo. A great photo captures a moment. I always think to myself how can I make it better? How can I make this picture memorable? They answer most of the time is to add mood to the image. The other thing I love adding to my images is movement. My background as a dancer helps a lot with that. Four years ago, I posted some images on Instagram and companies started reaching out to me asking for help with their ad campaigns. That’s how I got started as an influencer. Today I work with over 200 brands worldwide. You must always keep your mind open to learn, every day I learn something new about what I do. Also, never stop growing! Last month, I walked in New York fashion week for designer Negris Leblum, it was absolutely amazing!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love the galleria of course, I grew up there. River Oaks District shopping is hot! I love Cavatore on Ella, LaGriglia, Grotto, and Tony’s. Also, check out a Rockets game if they can, there’s nothing like the excitement!
