We had the good fortune of connecting with Shelia Hail and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shelia, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
In the beginning of Olivia Hail Designs my work life balance consisted of burning the candle at both ends of the stick. My natural bend is to run 100 miles per hour, work the hardest I can, and provide the best service I can possible to my client. I learned however though these aren’t bad attributes, without boundaries I easily burnout. I changed the way I worked, settled my urgency and put hours on my working projects. This has helped to make sure my business receives a less tired and more thoughtful version of myself. And most importantly so does my family – and they come first before anything.
Alright, what do you want people to know about your business?
Olivia Hail Designs has always been about intentionality, and continue to be. We truly care about the whole experience- from the connection we have to the client to each piece in their space telling their story.
What I would love the world to know about my brand and story is that I have been in remodels & residential design for the past 6 years with commercial experience as well. As Olivia Hail Designs grows we want to be more heavily involved in the hospitality design industry and would love any opportunity to step into that door. We want to create Boutique Hotels that feel like the most memorable experience you’ve ever had!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would go to Galveston, visit the Spot or Salsas! Then we would walk some trails, visit Nasa and relax!
Visit church at Hope City & grab some lunch with a lawn!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God, my husband, family and friends who have cheered me on!
My team as well – Dream Home Tile, Juan Hernandez
Design mentor – Sherrell Designs, teaches me all the things
