We had the good fortune of connecting with Shenette Prevo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shenette, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
When things get rough—oh boy, do they get rough!—take a step back and reevaluate whether the plan your using to achieve your goal is effective and make adjustments accordingly. I can tell you, when faced with challenges, my mind becomes my biggest opponent, wrestling with imposter syndrome and questioning if what I am confronting is truly worth it—ALL the things takeover. To calm those thoughts, I remind myself of how a diamond is formed—with high pressures and high temperatures. It’s chaotic before it’s beautiful, and that’s the nature of tackling goals. If what you are trying to achieve were easy, everyone would be doing it! Don’t give up on the goal, alter the plan!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

There’s so much to do and explore in Houston and surrounding areas, If I had a bestie coming to town we’d hit the streets the day and night! I’d want them to arrive on Thursday evening/Friday AM and leave the following Friday to have a great experience.

Friday – Dinner, Drinks, and live music at Sambuca

Saturday – Breakfast at Max’s Wine Dive on Washington Ave, Skating and outdoor fun at Discovery Green, lunch at the Grove, and Dinner at Bungalow

Sunday- Brunch at Kiss restaurant then bar hop in EADO for Sunday Funday, grab Rice Box to go on our way home

Monday – Visit The Color Factory interactive museum. Dinner & Drinks at Traveler’s Table

Tuesday – Shopping at the Houston Premium Outlets. Catch a drive in movie at Showboat Drive-In

Wednesday – Breakfast/Brunch at Snooze, Spa Day at The Spa at Post Oak Hotel followed by dinner and drinks at the H Bar

Thursday – Lunch and games at the Putt Shack Downtown followed by happy hour and dinner at Shula’s.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I’ve been fortunate to have numerous incredible individuals contribute to my journey, helping me reach the point I am at today. I am truly blessed with the unwavering support of my parents. sister, and my children, my extended family, and my circle of friends. The success of my business wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of my business partners: Lamar, our Marketing Manager, T’iara, and Jada, our Event & Design Coordinators.

In addition to these business roles, Lamar, plays a crucial role in maintaining my sanity behind the scenes. He serves as our marketing guru, sounding board, accountability partner, and cheer captain. Lamar not only provides the space for us to nurture our ideas but is also the mastermind behind the cohesiveness of our business brand.

T’iara, our Design Coordinator, is my confidant and personal think tank. I can always rely on her to represent the company admirably at events, and she is the go-to person to work through challenges, brainstorm new ideas, and formulate plans.

Jada, our Event Coordinator, is my right hand at events, keeping me grounded and realistic, offering the necessary balance to my imaginative endeavors. Her ability to provide space for creative exploration while keeping the team grounding in reality is truly invaluable.

I am deeply grateful for the support and contributions of these remarkable individuals. Their unwavering belief in me and our shared vision has played a pivotal role in the success of Teacup Planning & Events.
