We had the good fortune of connecting with Shereen Yusuff and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shereen, what do you attribute your success to?
My faith in what I do. I teach people how to breath correctly and meditate. Paying attention to how I breathe has changed my life. For this reason, I feel extremely passionate about sharing the techniques with others to help them overcome anxiety, depression, anger, addiction, fatigue, PTSD, etc. Most of what I just stated are tied to medication unfortunately and so having a way to counter it naturally, by taking responsibility for the way we breathe is definitely a game changer in the way most people have been living so far.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own a studio called Suda Prem which means “pure love”. I teach breath, movement and meditation at the studio. I am a certified wimhof method and buteyko instructor as well as am Onnit certified in joint mobility and the steel mace. I’ve been an athlete almost all my life – growing up I was a tennis player, followed by becoming a marathoner and then an ultra marathoner. Then Ironmans came along followed by Thru-hiking which quickly turned into mountaineering. It was here that my hatred towards the cold started becoming a problem and I got into the wimhof method to change my relationship with the cold. I ended up becoming an instructor in the same and have been teaching workshops as well as classes since 2017.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am Indian by blood, and so I love Hillcroft Avenue for food. I usually go to Shiv Sagar. I also enjoy seeing the view of downtown from Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park. Seismique would definitely be something to check out as well as El Jardin Beach.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
