We had the good fortune of connecting with Sia Moiwa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sia, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The social impact of Instrument of God, LLC and Kono Bui’ Foundation has changed the world by bringing awareness to the impacts of trauma. I provide support that aids in recovery such as trauma recovery coaching and trauma healing facilitator training that supports organizations to build trauma-informed leaders, transforms culture, and empowers individuals to move from Trauma into Triumph.
As a transformational speaker, I am about “All Things Healing” and you will often hear me speak on many platforms with a message to inspire, motivate and equip communities to heal, restore and recover. My desire is to heal one soul at a time and become a global healing source for individuals, families, and communities.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
First I am a servant of God before anything else. I walk in several roles as an entrepreneur – I am the Founder of Instrument of God, LLC, I am certified Trauma Recovery Coach and Christian Counselor, Trauma Healing Facilitator, Transformational Speaker, Prophetic Poetic and Author. My career is one that has been filled with learning to navigate the lessons of life and people. As long as I can remember I have been a person of service, weather in the boardroom or in my community trauma recovery is something I believe is my calling.
I started my career as a certified trauma recovery coach in 2019. I founded Instrument of God in 2014. I have helped hundreds of families, individuals and organizations break the cycle of their traumatic experiences. My clients have gained tangible results from the services that I provide. Most recently, I launched the Kono Bui’ Foundation, which is under Instrument of God, LLC. The foundation is named after my late father Tamba A. Moiwa. Kono “Bui’s” definition of “medicine” correlates with the foundation’s mission to provide a remedy for healing to the natives of my country. I have now mobilized my plans to build the first Kono Bui’ Life Resource Center in Bureh Town, Sierra Leone.
The center’s purpose is to provide resources in the areas of mental health recovery, education and literacy, and economic development. Kono Bui’ Foundation recently donated 100 desks to school-aged children at the Makoba Primary school, located in the Maconteh Chiefdom Port Loko District. Aside from my humanity work, I have a podcast that I host with my friend Latrica Spry, called “Words That Heal the Heart” where we touch on topics about all things life and share words that promote and encourage healing. I am a celebrated Amazon Best Seller of the “Gyrlfriend Collective” and I will be releasing a book entitled, “Pieces of Me” this year that is a story about redemption and vindication and how God allowed me to overcome my trauma, colliding my healing and purpose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would have a trip to the day spa planned so we can relax. I would follow with brunch, shop at some of the top boutiques and the Galleria of course for her first day in town. Our weeklong day activities would be filled with visiting some of our local museums and art galleries such as the Holocaust, Fine Arts, and African American Culture museum.
We both love giving back to the community, so each day would be centered around some sort of charity opportunity where we could be of service. We are also foodies at heart, so it would be a must to hit up some of the hottest Afro-centric restaurants like Peli Peli and Cool Runnings for lunch followed by intimate home dinners filled with friends, lots of wine and deep intellectual conversations around life, love, healing, ministry, and anything in between.
While it’s simple, it would be sweet. We would have a lot of girl time catching up and spending quality time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to the Kono Bui Team! They are my lifeline to my pushing the vision that God has given me.
