We had the good fortune of connecting with Sruthi Kamprath and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sruthi, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is persistence. What is persistence? Persistence is defined as “the quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult or opposed by other people.” Whether it is in my modeling career, mental health career, or tennis career, I have faced adversity and many obstacles that disheartened me. Despite the setbacks, I always keep trying, regardless of the results. I do my best to go above and beyond in everything I do, and I think people recognize and appreciate my efforts to go the extra mile. In addition to persistence, I also do my best to maintain an “attitude of gratitude.” I believe that every day holds countless opportunities, and maybe the results of the work I put in aren’t in my control- but how much effort I contribute is in my control. Knowing this allows me to put my best foot and attitude forward in everything that I do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Most people here in Houston know me as a model. I am also a USPTA certified tennis professional and have a master’s degree in counseling psychology. I am currently in the process of pursuing licensure as a therapist in the state of Texas. I believe that my diverse background enhances my skillset in all of my careers. For example, the exercise I do for tennis helps keep me in shape for modeling. And my mental health background gives me a healthy approach to dealing with mental health issues associated with the modeling industry. This is why I am able to balance these three careers and also maintain myself physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I would definitely plan for brunch every day at my favorite place called Toast. I absolutely love the Loaded Skillet Potatoes dish from there as well as the pancakes. After brunch, I would show my friend some of my favorite spots in the city starting with a few hours of shopping at Galleria. Then followed up by Post for a snack or dinner. In other remaining free time of my friend’s visit, we would hang out at the pool and lounge around while enjoying the summer weather.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that have contributed to my success. I want to give credit to the following people: Sandeep Sulhan, an amazing friend who has given me valuable mentorship in this industry. Raymond Mill, who is a dear friend and very talented photographer. Alfonso Aguirre, a wonderful friend who has helped me expand my modeling career into acting. All of these people have helped challenge me and also bring out the best in me, and I am grateful to them. And of course, I need to give credit to my husband, Roshen. He is the person that has been with me from the start of my journey, and he goes above and beyond to do what he can to support my dreams, and I appreciate him more than he knows.
