We had the good fortune of connecting with Steven Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Steven, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’m happy to answer your question, I’ve always wanted to be my own boss and live life on my own terms. I grew up watching my single mother work multiple jobs to provide for our family, and I knew that I wanted to create a better life for myself and my family.
I started my first business the year my daughter (Gabriella Jones) was born, Lavish Landscaping Solutions, in 2012. I had a passion for landscaping, and I knew that there was a need for quality landscaping services in my community. The business was a success, and I was able to provide for my family and give back to my community.
In 2020, I started my second business, Steady Snack’n. I love to snack, and I knew that there was a need for healthy and snack-able cuisines on the market. The business is also doing well, and I’m excited to see where it takes me in the future.
I believe that hard work and dedication are essential to success, but I also believe that it’s important to have a passion for what you do. If you’re thinking about starting your own business, I encourage you to go for it! It’s not always easy, but it’s definitely worth it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Thank you for your interest in my businesses, Steady Snack’n and Steady Stack’n. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
What sets me apart from others is my unique creative perspective. I believe that food is more than just sustenance; it’s an experience. I want my clients to feel something when they eat my food, whether it’s joy, satisfaction, or even a sense of adventure.
I’m also passionate about providing healthy and delicious options for my clients. I know that everyone has different dietary needs, and I want to make sure that everyone can enjoy my food.
The food industry is not for the faint of heart. It’s hard work, long hours, and a lot of dedication. But it’s also incredibly rewarding. I love being able to create something that people love, and I love seeing the smiles on their faces when they eat my food.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to be an entrepreneur. It’s not always easy, but it’s definitely worth it. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Steady Snack’n and Steady Stack’n.
In my off time, I love spending time with my daughter. We go to the park, play games, and just enjoy each other’s company. I also enjoy working out at the gym and planning my next business venture. I’m always looking for new ways to use my creativity and passion to make a difference in the world.
Thank you again for your interest. I’m happy to answer any other questions you have.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well of course Steady Snack’n would be in the rotation all week. I’m Foodie at heart so there’s so many great food spots round the city to go, You have the galleria food truck park, Almeda food truck park, Katy Food truck park and Washington for the drinks, sports and Ratio and other hookah lounges for the Vibes.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I would like to give most of the glory to God for giving me the strength, determination, and creativity to follow through on everything I envision. I would also like to give a shout-out to my mom and Gigi for instilling in me early on that if you want something worth keeping and appreciating, you have to put in the work to get it. I also want to thank my uncle Jared Osborne, owner of Unlimited Auto Services in Midtown, for letting me work in his food truck one day before he sold it. He planted a mustard seed of success in me without even knowing it. I also read a few books that put me on the right path, such as:
• Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
• Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
• The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene
• Money Master the Game by Tony Robbins
• The Way of the Superior Man by David Deida
• The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra
Thank you again for taking the time to meet with me today. I am grateful for all of the support and guidance I have received along the way. I am excited to see what the future holds, and I hope that my story will motivate anyone who reads this to jump out on faith to become a successful entrepreneur.
