Meet Sunny Paradeshi | Empowering Nonprofits to Share Their Stories for the Greater Good

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sunny Paradeshi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sunny, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Before starting Solace Media, I was already involved in supporting nonprofits in various ways – often helping out with creative projects, volunteering my time, and offering whatever skills I had to causes I believed in. I saw the incredible dedication these organizations brought to their missions, but I also noticed how many of them struggled to communicate their impact or reach the audiences they needed to grow.
That realization made me think bigger. I knew that if I wanted to truly help these organizations thrive, I couldn’t do it alone. That’s what inspired my wife & I to start Solace Media in 2013. I recognized that by building a team of like-minded, talented professionals, we could multiply our impact exponentially. It’s one thing to help a single nonprofit amplify its mission; it’s another to create a dedicated studio that empowers dozens of organizations each year to grow, engage their supporters, and ultimately change more lives. That’s the power of a team-bringing together diverse skills, perspectives, and creative energy to serve more people and create lasting, positive change.
Starting Solace Media allowed me to scale my passion for service. It’s not just about marketing; it’s about building relationships, understanding each client’s unique mission, and delivering solutions that help them thrive. Every project is an opportunity to make a difference, and I’m grateful every day for the team we’ve built and the organizations we get to serve.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What truly sets us apart is our team – we’re a group of people who not only love working with nonprofits, but who also make each organization’s mission our own. When we partner with a client, we become just as invested in their cause as they are. That sense of shared purpose drives everything we do.
We chose the name Solace very intentionally. Running a nonprofit or business is hard work, and marketing can often feel overwhelming or chaotic. Our goal is to be a source of peace and clarity for our clients – to help them find solace in the process, knowing they have a team that genuinely cares and is committed to making their lives easier, not more complicated.
Getting to where we are today has been incredibly challenging. Owning and running a business is full of ups and downs, and there’s no roadmap for the unique path each organization takes. We’ve faced our share of obstacles, from learning how to grow sustainably, to balancing the needs of our clients and our team, to navigating the ever-changing landscape of marketing and technology. What’s helped us overcome those challenges is our commitment to kindness – both within our team and in our relationships with clients. We’ve learned that treating people with respect, empathy, and understanding isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s also the foundation of a strong, successful business.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about Solace Media, it’s that we’re here to serve. We’re passionate about helping nonprofits and businesses thrive, and we believe that when organizations are supported with care and creativity, they can do even more good in the world. Our story is one of collaboration, compassion, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact – one project, one relationship, and one mission at a time.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Houston for a week, I’d want them to experience the city’s unique mix of purpose-driven spots, natural beauty, and great food-plus a little bit of my own kitchen hospitality.
For a peaceful afternoon, I’d take them to Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park. The Waterwall is one of Houston’s most iconic landmarks-a 64-foot-tall semi-circular cascade surrounded by beautiful green space. It’s a great spot for photos, a picnic, or just enjoying the calming sound of rushing water in the middle of the city.
We’d also visit the Cockrell Butterfly Center at the Museum of Natural Science. Walking through the rainforest habitat surrounded by hundreds of butterflies is an unforgettable experience, and the interactive exhibits are fascinating for anyone who loves nature or science. The Butterfly Center is especially close to my heart because my wife and I had one of our first dates there in Houston.
I’d also want to visit A 2nd Cup. Even though I don’t drink coffee myself, I love supporting this nonprofit coffee shop because of their mission to end human trafficking. It’s a great place to connect with friends and support a cause that matters.
Another spot I’d love to visit is The Blue Bird Circle Resale Shop. It’s one of those hidden gems in Houston where you can find all sorts of treasures-from vintage furniture to unique home goods and accessories. What I really love about it is that every purchase supports pediatric neurology research, so you get to shop for a good cause. Plus, it’s just a fun place to explore and see what you might discover!
Of course, as someone who loves cooking, I’d insist on at least one night in. I’d make sourdough pizza or serve up homemade ice cream and other fermented foods. Sharing a meal I’ve made is one of my favorite ways to connect, and I think it’s a true taste of home.
Beyond these highlights, I’d recommend exploring the Museum District, checking out Hermann Park, and sampling Houston’s incredible international food scene. But for me, the best memories come from a mix of meaningful places, good food, and time spent together – whether that’s out in the city or around the kitchen table.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s no way I could have built Solace Media or reached this point in my journey without the support and encouragement of my wife, Natasha. She’s not only my partner in life but also my co-founder and collaborator. Natasha’s vision, work ethic, and passion for serving others have shaped both our company and the way we approach our work every day.
I also want to recognize my family – our kids and our extended family – who have all played a big role in this journey. Running a business is not easy, and there are plenty of challenges along the way, but having their help and encouragement makes a huge difference. Their willingness to step in, offer support, and cheer us on has truly lifted us up and made so much possible. Every milestone we reach is a reflection of the sacrifices, understanding, and kindness they’ve shown us.
And of course, I have to give a special shoutout to our team at Solace Media. Each team member brings their own passion, creativity, and commitment to our mission of helping nonprofits thrive. Their dedication and care for our clients and their causes are at the heart of what we do. I’m grateful every day to work alongside such talented and purpose-driven people, and I know that our impact is only possible because of the team effort we put in together
All of these people in my life deserve as much credit for our success as anyone. This journey is truly a team effort, and I’m thankful every day to have them by my side.
