Meet T. Denise McDaniel | The Cleaning Lady

We had the good fortune of connecting with T. Denise McDaniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi T. Denise, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Most people would say. “oh, it’s just cleaning” However what we do is so much more. We deliver a clean home, an organized home and give you peace of mind. Most clients are on the go, both men and women, that just don’t have the time to clean or keep their home organized and that’s where ROYAL TEE CLEANING SERVICE comes in. We are a judgement free cleaning company. So, when the client that is suffering from depression and can’t clean because they are overwhelmed, that’s when we come in and what i like to say “WORK OUR MAGIC”

Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from others?
What makes me unique is, my drive to no longer be a statistic. I was working tirelessly at a job where I was unappreciated and underpaid just to be laid off after the company was bought out. I was in a never-ending financial bind trying to make ends meet. The final straw for me was the passing of my father. It was a devastating blow, but it gave me the strength & courage to finally strike out on my own as an entrepreneur. I was determined to create a work environment for myself and others to have stable work as well as indirectly contributing to making others happy.

Every client gets a personal clean. No two clients are the same. I intentionally don’t use a website. I make an effort to connect with each client i come in contact with, rathe it’s over the phone or by text. When my company expands, I’m sure i will have to develop a different system, so for now i will enjoy the people and some of the stories behind the need for a clean. My clients feel comfortable with me. They share a lot, especially my cancer patients. Cancer patients get an extremely discounted clean. And in some cases, A FREE CLEAN.

My big brother Brandon has been battling brain cancer for some years now. I have seen the effect the treatments had on him. So when i talk to them they feel i understand. Because, I DO. So, this is my small way of contributing to the families.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend and I have a very genuine relationship. Most of our time spent together in the past few years. Has been at a business that we started. Our conversations and time spent no matter where we are. Has been and always been about the next step. shout out to my best friend KING..

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
MY FAMILY. I have not always been the person that i am today. I have definitely lived my life on my own terms, which put me in some less than desirable situations. However, my family has never turned their back on me. They supported me and lifted me up through everything. My parents: My mother, who is the backbone of the family, has shown me throughout life how to handle business. She has been the one to take care of all of us, even me at my age, a business owner and a leader and a boss. I will still call my mama for advice. My father passed in 2009. But the words of admiration that he always gave me are in my heart. He passed before he could see all that I have accomplished, but I know that he would be extremely proud of his baby girl.
