We had the good fortune of connecting with Tameka Christmas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tameka, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business help women define their skills, change their financial life, and share their story. Cultivating a place for women to be seen and heard allows us to give women the opportunity to show up for themselves. But not only that, when we change a woman’s mindset we change the community around her. Her family benefits. Her business grows. She becomes in control of her life. She becomes who she’s destined to be.

What should our readers know about your business?
Business isn’t a cake walk and I love that. You get to experience the journey and celebrate with people along the way. I started The Branding Cafe and Fempreneur Founder to support women in business. What I didn’t know is how to actually run a business. I’ve overcome the struggles by cultivating my community of friends, attending conferences and workshops, and always being a student. I’ve learned that business is always changing and that once you accept the journey, you’ll be able to grow faster. My story is no different from you – I’m just a woman that decided to execute in spite of the challenges that have been throwing my way. My brand is built for women like YOU – if you’re stuck and ready to build a business from your skills, I’m your strategist.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My best friend and I would entertain ourselves at top golf and eat at one of my favorites, Parrain Seafood. We’ll take a day trip to New Orleans – shop, eat beignets, and enjoy the music in the French Quarters. We’ll close out the weekend at LSU park with our boiled crawfish and daiquiris.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s so many to name but let’s start with my son for being the extra push I need, my family for investing in my business, and my friends for helping me build this community: Jae, Miranda, Leann, Rhonda, ReaChanel, Kiki, Takeia, & so many more!
