We had the good fortune of connecting with TaNia Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi TaNia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was a lot, I was very hesitant because when I started I wasn’t the best. However, all I had to do was just to start to get better! I was really scared honestly because I was like what if I do bad. That was not the case at all! I started putting myself out there and got positive feedback.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I want to say the art becomes a part of you. As time begins to start, you’ll develop a signature with your art. I am most proud of myself for taking the risks and always learning new things! I want to say my experience with my clients set me apart from others. I like to build a relationship with them. The process is definitely trial and error! I’ve taken a few classes just to better myself and try to be the best makeup artist I can be. It is never easy, because sometimes you want to give up and you have to remember purpose. I want the world to know that I’m a makeup artist trying to conquer the world. I just want to make people feel beautiful and important.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely, I always tell people this lady from my church pushed me, her name is Mama Kay. She asked me to do her makeup one day and I told her no. I was like no, I don’t know what I’m doing. She wouldn’t take no for an answer, so I did her makeup and I lovvvveeeee her reaction. That pushed me to start doing makeup because I realized I can make people feel beautiful and brighten their day. Also, my parents, sisters, and friends influence me to keep going and to prosper with makeup.
