We had the good fortune of connecting with Tasauna Noelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tasauna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I started my business, my thought was to create affordable glueless luxury hair units for the ladies. Hair that was beautiful and effortless to wear.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Beauty and creativity is my art. I make beautiful custom pieces, and there is nothing that I cannot do. I create flawless luxurious wig units, out of some of the best raw hair. I feel extremely fortunate that I am able to make a living doing something that I am so passionate about.

I started my business in 2018, by sheer accident. I was a Regional Director for a neighborhood development corporation and resigned from my position. I was sitting at home, trying to fill my time, and decided to make a wig from scrap hair that I had under my bed. I made the wig, cut and styled it, then I posted a picture of me wearing it on Facebook. I instantly had 7 orders. Within a month, I had a full registered, licensed business, and my business is still thriving this very day.

Starting my business was not easy. I had so many orders that it was difficult for me to fulfill them all by hand. So, I purchased a sewing machine, and taught myself how to machine sew a wig. Through trial and error, I was able to sew 10-15 units a day, customize them, style them, etc.

The lessons I have learned along the way are that I should have marketed outside of social media a long time ago, but that is where I meet the majority of my new clients. My business truly runs on social media, and word of mouth.

I want the world to know that my brand was created from love, and the desire to sell affordably beautiful ready-to-wear glueless units to all ladies, that wear them. I absolutely love what I do, I have created a huge family from my works, and I stand by my product.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I am very new to the area, so I do not have a huge list of suggestions, but we would definitely eat at a lot of the restaurants here. Aunt Bill’s in Katy would be one of the restaurants for sure. I would take her to the Livin Room and/or Quad for the live music, because the lady can SANG! We would probably stop by Katy Vibes for Karaoke, and head into the city area, and see what else we could find.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is to my daughter Brittney. She has held me down while I fulfill my dreams. She supports my business, pays full price for her custom pieces, and even tips me nicely. She says there are no family discounts, and she will pay just like everyone else. She is literally my biggest fan.
