We had the good fortune of connecting with Tasha Dalal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tasha, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of Moving Box Co is customer service. I know every single one of my customers by name and I want them to have the absolute best experience. Our boxes speak for themselves, I know they will love using the boxes, but I also want them to have a connection to our company and remember their positive experience with our brand. At the end of the day, we are a small business and we want our customers to feel that. Our entire business model is built around customer service and ensuring our customers have the best experience from ordering all the way through box pick-up!

What should our readers know about your business?
Moving Box Co is an innovative, eco-friendly moving box rental company that wants to help your move be hassle-free all while helping the earth. We rent out rugged, reusable, plastic moving boxes and super smooth moving carts within the Greater Houston and surrounding areas.. The boxes are extremely durable, stackable, and are cleaned and sanitized between every use. Best of all, we deliver the boxes to your current home in a convenient stack and then pick them up from your new home after you move.

What makes me most proud about this business is the steps we are taking to save the planet. Using our boxes helps reduce how much cardboard, tape and packing paper you use and ultimately waste in our eco-system making a more sustainable earth.

Launching and running Moving Box Co has been far from easy. There has definitely been bumps and bruises along the way but that is something I was prepared for after taking good notes from my brother who also started his own business several years ago and is now a very successful entrepreneur. Moving Box Co is still in early stages which is always the hardest part of being an entrepreneur.

The execution of Moving Box Co started during the COVID-19 pandemic and due to this, there were many difficulties around actually being able to touch and feel the product and visit the suppliers. Everything had to be done virtually and I went through a full sourcing process to finally find the right supplier and the right boxes. I wanted all my products to be USA made, so that added another level of complexity. Supply chain constraints also made it more difficult in the beginning to obtain inventory, not to mention prices skyrocketed.

I am sure there will be many more struggles along the way, but that is just part of the whole learning process and makes an even stronger company.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston staycation! There are so many different parts of Houston that I love, spanning all across the city. I would start out at Memorial Park and walk the trail followed by some breakfast tacos at Sunrise Taquitos on Washington, a hidden gem with the most delicious homemade tacos. Then onto some R&R time at the Houstonian Spa (Trellis Spa) with a relaxation massage! We would have to spend a day walking the Buffalo Bayou trails and visiting downtown underground tunnel system followed by some amazing brunch at Baby Barnabys in Montrose.
Saint Arnolds Brewery & Garden would have to be part of our itinerary along with the Houston Zoo and Hermann Park area.
There is too much to do in Houston to even cover in a week’s time. Houston Heights is one of my favorite areas, food, trails, shops, you name it! I love exploring new coffee shops. I would definitely take my bestie to all the local coffee shops around town, you meet the best people at coffee shops!
Before bestie left, I wouldn’t forget another one of my favorite hang-outs way way out West of the Katy area, The Oaks Kitchen & Grill. I love the outdoor venue with all the greenery, the treehouse and some delicious drinks and food!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband is the support system behind Moving Box Co and there would be no company without him. He pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and be an entrepreneur. I learned quickly there is no perfect time or sign to make this jump, but just to get out there and do it. He stood next to me the entire way and still works behind the scenes wherever I need support. And my 2 little girls – they are my biggest cheerleaders. I love that they get to see strong female leadership and get to learn a little bit of how owning a business works.
