We had the good fortune of connecting with Tay Mayberry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tay, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My primary focus’ are self-love, self-respect, and self-expression, while also building and maintaining strong and long-lasting relationships within the community. I want to show the world there’s another way with your gift.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an all-around creative individual who specializes in various areas of art, including but not limited to manicured nails, murals, visual art, private and group paint parties, team-building workshops, custom accessories, woodwork, mixed media art, and more. I love trying different things as I am a hands on learner. It’s not easy but I always intrigued by how things work or the process. I do lots of research and I’m always bugging the art community with questions. I’ve learned that there’s no way to master the craft of art. Always be ready to teach and learn something. As far as me, I’m just trying to let the world see the change I want to be.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Tuesday – Museum District/ Memorial Herman Park Wednesday – Art District
Thursday – Art night in the city ( open mic/ poetry)
Friday – Art Gallery
Saturday – Skating
Sunday – Brunch @ Euphoria Lounge
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is no one particular person or organization. I’m so grateful for them all. I want to shout out my entire community and extended internet and Art cousins. I would not be where I am today without them.
