We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Criddle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taylor, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Other than deciding to work for myself, my single most important decision I make to contribute to my success is always willing to learn and grow. The cake world is always changing in growing and with that I have to be willing to change as well. I always try to keep true to myself and put apart of me into every cake I do. I like to pour my heart, soul, and most of all love with every bit.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am most proud and excited about how I see my business and myself grow every years. I got to where I am today with a lot of hard work and support from friends and family. I started going to every farmers markets I can find and business networks to get my name out there. It was definitely not easy being a introvert I had to adapt in get out of my comfort zone with talking to people. Eventually it worked out because my cake and my customers started talking for me by word of mouth. The lesson I learned along the way is that I had to keep going and I wasn’t always going to sell out. I learned not everyone is you customer and the right people will understand your worth I just had to trust in God. I would want the world to know about me and my brand is that I make everything with love. I take everyone’s event into consideration in love being part of peoples special day. It truly makes me happy that I can make others happy with my desserts.
