Meet Taylor Elliott-Yearby: Personal Chef

We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Elliott-Yearby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always been an entrepreneur and owning my own business was always a dream of mine. I new that I wanted to cook thing that I love to make and also bring joy to people. Cooking is the way of life. I believe that cooking brings family and friends together and that’s what I love the most. At first I wasn’t so sure where I wanted to start and fear took over me so it took me a while to start. One day I got up and I said today is the day. I start creating a business plan and a name of my business and I have been striving to expand.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a personal chef. I have been in the industry for 7, going on, 8 years. I have worked at numerous 4-5 star hotels and restaurants. I specialize in global cuisine and like to be challenged with creating new dishes. I am very passionate about food and truly love what I do. I enjoy complimenting people’s time together with my creative plates and delicious food. I love to bring soul to the recipe, leaving my clients feeling happy and full. Getting to this point in my career took a lot of time and hard work. Without my never-ending drive and passion, this business would not exist. I over came challenges with the help of my family and am very grateful for them. Along the way I have learned the importance of being confident in what I do, networking, and building connections . I want the world to know that cooking and warming people’s hearts with my creations is my specialty and I love what I do. Family. Food. Love. Peace.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend just happens to live with me. My beautiful wife and I love to try different foods all over the city. We love to go to Velvet Taco and have some tacos and margaritas. After that we love to stop by Axelrad Beer Garden. That place is awesome they have variety of beers and cocktails. They have board games, movies, live music sometimes and it is such a vibe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife and my family for all their support. My wife is always there with me at every event helping me with everything that I need.
