We had the good fortune of connecting with Tesha Wilder and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tesha, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I am a firm believer of no risk no reward. Ive taken plenty of risks within my career such as moving from state to state to expand my career and enjoy life as well. I am from Cleveland Ohio and I’ve moved my business to New York, Atlanta, back to Cleveland and now my newest journey in Houston. When you move sometimes you don’t really know what to expect, new customers can love you or hate you. I stay authentic and true to myself with every move. We sometimes hesitate making a big move, but you really have to JUST DO IT. Trust in yourself, your work, your character and you will be put in the exact position that was waiting on you. My risk has lead to exploring different cities, living in new communities, meeting so many different people, and expanding my brand while enjoying great life experiences.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I speak on challenged, I feel like I have experienced them all. Simple to say but you cannot give up, and trust me I wanted to with each obstacle. Ive learned from each obstacle and applied it to my daily life. Sometimes when yo are trying to accomplish a lot you have to sit down, create a plan and don’t bite off too much you can chew. Sometimes you will still choke but do we give up then NO. Sit down again, create another plan and move forward. This has helped me along my journey every time. Ive been tracking my growth, its good to look back and see how far you’ve come, Movtivate yourself and upgrade with every move you make. Nothing about my journey has been easy, but I won’t give up. My brand is based off passion and ambition. I absolutely love what I do and I love I inspire so many, I connect with all of my clients and students, wanting them to succeed. I take pride in helping others. The circle of a blessing. My brand represents who I am entirely.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend will be staying with me my first week in Houston. We are excited to try out as many food and happy hour spots as possible. We love a cute brunch spot, with unlimited mimosas of course. While dining we take about 100 pictures with the same smile and pose, Since it is winter and we are from Cleveland, we are going to take advantage of the beautiful Houston weather.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to shoutout all of my family and friends. They have supported me through every obstacle and transition along my journey. I am extremely grateful for my support group as many don’t have such thing. They are always one call away and right by my side. My mom specifically is one of h=the reasons I keep going. Watching her conquer breast cancer and never showing a weak moment, I have to show her I have the same fight in me.
