We had the good fortune of connecting with Tess Bahbouche and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tess, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
The success for me is recognition by the industry leaders and peers. I always strive to deliver the best service to my clients and their guests, but I also try to be an excellent colleague to other vendors in my field. I also a believer in “no pain, no gain”. And whenever I succeed in anything I always grateful for all my hours of hard work, mistakes, and any problems which I have faced in the past. After all, these hardships made me learn my lesson and improve myself personally and professionally.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My biggest difference from the other peers lies in my creativity and being a tech-savvy person. I am always searching for new ways to WOW my clients with the help of great software for my projects’ management, forecasting, and visualization. Getting to the point where I know how my business should work wasn’t easy for sure, because I wasn’t familiar with the US market of weddings when I moved here with my knowledge of official B2B and G2G events. I have spent hundreds of hours learning, researching, and asking questions, I can tell you that! I have joined various educational institutions to master the areas I wasn’t 100% confident about and tried to do all of the services my clients asked me. After some time, I have learned that I enjoy working on some projects more than on others and it helped me to niche myself and differentiate from the ocean of wedding planners in Houston and Texas. Along the way, I have learned so many lessons, I cannot even write all of them down! But my biggest lesson would be “do what you love, and if you keep on procrastinating on some part of your job, delegate this part to someone else”. I tried to save money by doing the majority of business tasks by myself, which took a significant amount of time from me. So, instead of spending time with my family or working on events, I was researching how to write SEO-optimised articles. This took me a while, but I am happy I realized that and now delegating some of the matter to my employees. All of my lessons, experience, and knowledge helped me build the core of Epris Events. I can proudly say that Epris Events is a professional and stylish wedding planning company in Houston, which provides excellent service to its customers and I will definitely keep on working on improving the company even more.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a person who sees beauty in a simple rock or a cloud. I would definitely love to show vegetation diversity of the Houston area with southern golden fields between Houston and Galveston, and evergreen pine woods in the Woodlands and Montgomery. I am a fan of hiking, so I like visiting Terry Hershey park which is a hidden natural gem in the middle of the busy city. Another interesting place to visit – Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens. This particular place reminds me of royal houses in Europe, which I loved to tour when I lived in Europe. For shopping, I like Galleria area – there you can find basically any store you want and have a nice lunch too.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my kids, who taught me to be more organized and manage my time wisely; to my parents who always supported me in all my beginnings and encouraged me to keep on going; to my mentor, Sasha Souza from Sasha Souza Events, who gave me a magical kick in booty, filled me with business and branding knowledge, and shared her unlimited positivity.
