We had the good fortune of connecting with The Honeys of Happy Hour and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi The Honeys of Happy Hour, what makes you happy? Why?
We find happiness in new and fun experiences. We love and cherish the atmosphere that happy hour cultivates among friends and family. Through this shared love for fine dining and unique deals, we find happiness in each moment spent together and our ability to share those experiences with others.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are all employed in the health care profession. We have a shared passion for physical health and mental wellbeing. As recent grads, we continue to face challenges with navigating healthcare amidst a global pandemic. One of the biggest lessons we have learned through our adversities is finding joy in the small things. A little goes a long way, and through shared experiences and social engagement, the support from others has made our challenges easier to handle. With our brand, we hope to show others how easy flowing things can go when you have a team of people with a shared love and passion.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A perfect weekend getaway in Houston starts off with lunch at Postino Wine Cafe, where they can indulge in $5 glasses and small Italian bites. Followed by lunch is an interactive pottery class at Smashed Clay Studio in City Centre. After hotel checkin and a perfect slumber, they take a night on the town starting at Glorias Latin Cuisine for live music and salsa dancing. Within walking distance, they can bar hop to other hot spots such as Electric FeelGood, Wonder Bar, and Dogwood Houston. Saturday morning starts off with kayaking or bike riding along Buffalo Bayou, followed by breakfast at The Breakfast Klub. They can float the Texas shaped lazy river at Marriott Marquis Houston, while sipping a cold cocktail from one of six restaurants. Check out a local art event, showcase or the Japanese Tea Garden within the museum district. Slip into your finest attire for dinner at Willie G’s. Saturday’s night out will be held along Washington Avenue, a host of bars and clubs for all. Wrap up the weekends festivities with Sunday Funday at Taste Bar + Kitchen or Grace’s, followed by your flight home.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to give a special thanks to our fellow alumni at the University of Texas- San Antonio for their continuous support and encouragement from the beginning of our journey. With every repost, like and through word of mouth, we have been able to develop a loyal following of 500 Honeys and counting!
