Hi The Mason Twinz: Amber and Asia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind creating Leaders of the Nu World was to make an impact on consciousness and for one to go within themselves to heal and awaken their potential and power, In which we refer to as “return back home”. Back in 2019, Solange released an Album “When I get home” which my sister and I loves, she highlights Houston, areas of her upbringing, the culture, and more. Hints the album name. In 2020- 2021, during the pandemic everyday we dedicated our time to learning more about who we are. We created a routine of mediating, reading, learning about metaphysics, kemetic teachings and more. Within that time we grew an even more powerful sense of self and pride as we went deeper within ourselves. Our social media timeline reflected that too. We were happy to see others pursuing their passions and purpose on social media in the mist of uncertain times in the world. The resilience, hope, creativity, and drive was filling to witness as we seen them and ourselves as leaders. It was the work and energy still thriving to pursue the life and dreams one always imagined for themselves no matter what hardship, struggle, or change occurred in their lives, Allowing their soul and heart to lead. We understood all that came with still creating and making things possible during that time, it showed that those that are still creating aren’t letting fear get in the way of their light and that they are speaking a language that only some may understand. With that spirit lead us to the words “Leaders of the Nu World.” We saw ourselves and those creating as Leaders of the Nu World. “Nu World” referring to: A shift toward a collective evolution where authenticity, creativity, and connection guide us forward. End of December 2o21, Asia and I developed the idea of a short film with selected individuals we believed to be leaders of the Nu World with the message of “returning back home to self”. Mid April 2022, we premiered “Leaders of the Nu World The Short Film”. We had immediate success, within the same month Leaders of the Nu World photoshoot visuals were published in Vogue Magazine and others like MOB Journal, Artells Magazine, Flannel, Martika and won the People Choice Award at the Afro-Fusion Film Fest in June. The impact of the film and visuals inspired us three years later to create something with an even bigger impact. February 2025, Leaders of the Nu World has now become a Journal series available on our website and Amazon helping guide one to return back home to self.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets us apart from others is our authenticity, our embrace to divinity and being unapologetically prideful in who we are as individuals and who we are as twins. We got to where we are today by staying true to ourselves and with our art. Being intentional and present when we create is necessary to us, as we inspire for our creativity, energy and love to speak through whatever format of art we create. Because we are natural alchemist, Yes it is easy to create, we allow spirit to guide us with everything we are doing. Some lessons we have learned along the way is patience. Not allowing the world around us to control our timing but to move in the energy of what feels aligned with us. What we would love the world to know about who we are and our brand is that everything we do is with intention, created with integrity, honesty, and is spirit lead.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When we have the honor to show people around H-Town we would love to take them to the Water Wall in the Galleria area, that is one of our sacred spots and Mo better brews for the best vegan food in town!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
