We had the good fortune of connecting with TheFirm and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi TheFirm, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Perseverance and drive are two of the most important things that will help push and sustain your career. Setbacks are going to happen but it’s vital to keep moving forward. It’s easy to be influenced by trends taking place, but staying focused and steadfast in your beliefs and process is key.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We’re most proud of the genuine love that our music is receiving. Being able to share and create music as bestfriends, is what we’re most excited about. Professionally, our passion and love for the art as kids blossomed into the desire to build a platform for others. It wasn’t easy, we almost never took flight. We experienced a major setback from the beginning of the journey that was almost detrimental. We dug our feet in, leaned on each other, and reminded ourselves why we were doing it. Along the way we’ve learned genuine relationships go a long way, money talks, and stay true to self. We want people to know that none of what we do is about or for us.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We operate out of Charlotte, NC, so when visiting the Queen City we’d take them shopping at North Lake mall after linking with the homie Al Bowman at Affiliated Apparel Boutique. We’d then grab lunch at Cuzzo’s Cuisine for the wings and crab mac n cheese. Midweek, we’ll have them accompany us to EQ Studios so they can take part in our creative process while we record. Friday and Saturday we’ll check in with the homie Stubbs and pull up on his illustrious events. On Sunday we’d do an early morning hike at Crowder’s mountain, head back, freshen up, then hit Tattoos and Booze for brunch before they head out.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, our mothers deserve the utmost recognition, Ms. Brenda Hines & Ms. Cynthia Walker. May they rest in peace! We want to thank our families as well. Along the way, our main producers, Chris ‘CA’ Adams & Frank The Phre$h. Our social media and brand coordinator, Breyah Jones. Our Engineer, J.K. Coldtrain Productions out of Greensboro, NC for capturing footage during our live shows. Our music mentors Rawallty and Sonni Daiz. And anyone who has believed, invested and supported thus far.
