Meet Tia Green | Small Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tia Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
What should our readers know about your business?
I am most excited about witnessing the growth in my business. Building something from the ground takes hard work, consistency, and grit, especially building a business. There are so many components to running a business outside of having a great product. As I have been learning these things, it has also helped me grow professionally and personally. Since opening, There have been many unexpected twists and turns that have happened. After many reoccurrences of these experiences, I have become more crafty and ready to pivot at any moment. This keeps me on my toes and keeps me learning new skills that will help me as a business owner, which I can use to pour back into my business and employees. By no means is being a business owner easy. There are days I want to give up and throw in the towel, but my will to see my business through to the end holds greater weight on my spirit than those moments I want to give up. I hate to be preachy, but prayer is the number one tool I use to get me through those challenging business moments and tough decisions. The biggest thing I want the world to take away by seeing my success story is that they can do it too! In this new age, many things don’t seem attainable, but what I learned and want others to understand is that you can create your idea of what success looks like for you and go for it! Success isn’t the materialistic thing in life, and it’s what makes you proud of yourself when you look in the mirror at night. My success, in the end, looks like that moment in the mirror right before bed telling myself,” YOU DID THAT, GIRL!”
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I would like to give all the credit and praise to Jesus Christ, and He is the only reason my business has made it to the point where it is now. Although we are still in the beginning phases, my business has grown TREMENDOUSLY within a few months since opening. All glory to God! Secondly, my Fiance, Zavien Reynolds, has been the backbone in my pursuit of building Crowns Plant-Based Ice Cream from the ground. He has been there to encourage me, uplift me, and be extra helping hands when I need them. Thirdly, my family is MY BIGGEST supporter. They have been there since the beginning rooting me on. Lastly, my friends! They are fantastic, and I love how they have been genuinely supporting me since opening.
