We had the good fortune of connecting with Tia Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tia, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal for me is to soon have my own cosmetics store or brand inside stores such as Ulta or Sephora. By the end of my career I want to be able to walk into a store and interact with those purchasing my products. I want to be able to say that my business is successful and reached its goal.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At the moment in my professional life, I have been trying to find a career. I am a recent graduate from Texas Southern University trying to navigate my way into “the real world.” It’s been hard and I still haven’t found that job I’m looking for but in the meantime I have been working at the front desk cheer gym.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Houston, Texas has a lot to offer from restaurants, activity spots, clubs, bars, and museums. If my best friend was visiting my town for the weekend we would have to go to The Honey Hole for brunch, then to the galleria mall to shop around. Maneuver our way to The Heights Social for happy hour. Then end our way by going to Kamp or Playground for the nightlife club.
