Hi Tiffany, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Midcity designs with the philosophy that interiors influence us in most of our everyday lives. Where we drop our keys, take off our shoes, or favorite bar or restaurant – every client is different. Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
New Orleans-bred and now Houston-based, I am the Owner and Principal of Midcity Design Group.  Armed with an MBA and searching to fulfill my passions, I audited federal contractors for years before pursuing design full-time. I began as a certified Staging Expert working with realtors and vacation rentals. My love affair with art, architecture, color, texture, and furnishings eventually led me to bolster my natural talents in Interior Design where I developed a unique luxe-low aesthetic, enabling me to devise modern, luxurious, and approachable spaces.

My vibrant design background transcends includes high-end design, international art and textile procurement, and set design for renowned fashion designers. My native New Orleans roots hold the foundational Southern ingredients of polished sensibility and sophisticated livability. At the same time, my professional design experience evokes a confident approach to meticulously planned yet artistic motifs.

Business “ain’t been no crystal stairs” but I overcame by staying yes to all the unique projects that have crossed my path – food truck, church, birthing suits, barndominium, and a music studio – among the new construction, renovation, and home decoration projects from Houston to California and New Orleans to New York.

I design projects that run the spectrum from modern minimalist to corporate contemporary, incorporating style, luxury, and comfort into highly functional and inviting spaces. We assist clients with a wide range of services, including space planning, construction documents, specification of finishes and materials, 3-D renderings, project management, virtual design, and concierge services, including upholstery cleaning, handy work, housekeeping, plumbing, landscaping, organizers, and more. Our bespoke service is further animated by MDG design signatures: custom-made furniture and surfaces, exquisite fabrics and wallpapers, and original works of art.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Great Question – Well, I’m in a long-distance relationship, so I get to do this once a month. Honestly, Houston always has hot new stops popping up so we also ways have much to do. Here is what we did last month:

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course – I would not be where I am today without the Small Business University experience with Houston Uban Leauge. It helped me become more confident. They also equipped and prepared me for what to expect as a business owner.
