We had the good fortune of connecting with TJ Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi TJ, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We wanted to make Professional Photography affordable.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We do all location photography. Most of our clients feel more at ease in their own environment. At your home or at the park. We try to keep our price affordable. We’re not fancy. If you like what we do, we can do it for you. We got here by Word of Mouth. We don’t try and steal business from any competitor. We wouldn’t want someone to do that to us. It’s just not right, so why do it. We do all kinds of photography. We do a lot of Livestock Photography, but we are not limited to that area. We can do Weddings, Family Portraits or Sr Pictures as well. We love taking pictures at Rodeos. We do that when time permits. Rooftop in Estes Park Co is one of our favorites. There is something about Rodeo People that makes it fun.. they are a family. Photography is part time for us. Its fun, we enjoy it. Turning it into a full time business has never been the plan.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d probably hang out at the house.. Fire up the BBQ Pit for Brisket Ribs and Chicken. Maybe take a drive in the country… just to see the land. If the timing is right, a trip to Rodeo Houston is always a good idea. We’ve found a few burger places that we really enjoy. But mostly, keep it simple. Light a fire in the fire pit for Smores…
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We got our start at the Harris County Fair. Dick Atkins told me if he liked me, I’d be back. We did the show for 25 years. That opened the door for many new opportunities.
