We had the good fortune of connecting with Tommy Hauser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tommy, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I think the most important thing that will impact my kids is teaching them you have to fully rely on God. There is no quitting on life, family, spouse, or career. If we don’t continue to teach our kids that the purpose of this life is to love God, love people, then what do they have to build on? Owning your own business proves that it’s not always easy, nothing is handed to us, and you have to work hard to make all these things work. If we quit on our marriages, jobs, other commitments, then it shows our kids all you have to do is quit. You will have more of an impact on your kids if you gut through the hard stuff and they see no matter how bad it gets you never, never, quit!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are a commercial and residential landscape and maintenance company. I have worked in the horticultural industry over 18 years. It is my passion and what I love to do. I worked with a large landscape company for several years and developed a passion for landscapes. Our challenge we work through every day is consistent quality. Having plenty of employees you have to continue coaching and training your passion and expectations of final product, I have learned many things owning my own business but the one thing that I am reminded every day is “great work is not handed to you, you have to earn it!”

We are not the biggest, but we defiantly have the most passion and desire for our clients to enjoy the outdoors!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would hit Lupe Tortilla right away for the best tex mex in town. Margaritas and fajitas for everyone. Nothing like a stop at one of the local live music venues for a little Texas country music.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this to my mother-in-law and father-in-law who have recently passed close together due to cancer. My father-in-law was a great business owner for many years and married over fifty years. It still works!
