Meet Tony Ramirez | Local Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tony Ramirez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tony, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always been around classic cars all my life. My dad would say he always had classic cars “Not by choice, but because that’s all he could afford, so he always bought and sold a few cars. I thought I could take this hobby and make it a business. People are unaware of all the work involved in making an old car be able to keep up with all the modern cars. Risk is always there in your career, you just have to be able to work and not wait for things to come to you. You have to make it happen. Then it becomes less of a risk. The single most important decision I made was to use the talents of employees and keep them happy by treating them as part of the business and showing them the proper respect. The most important factor is customer service, the right staff, and quality product. Hard work plays a big part also. You have to do what others in your field will not. I have learned to trust employees more and supervise more, and not try and do everything myself. My Favorite quote is “Get your ass to work and get after it. There is no time for nonsense.”

What should our readers know about your business?
Risk is always there in your career, you just have to be able to work and not wait for things to come to you. You have to make it happen.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to my ranch and chill for a few days. Feed cattle, dogs, make fires and go fishing for starters. We could eat at JW’s Steakhoiuse in Carmine. We could have drinks at Kooper Whiskey or Busted Oaks Cellars (winery), hang out in Round Top (Antiques). There are too many places in the area to list but those are a few.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shout out person is Rodrigo “Paco” Ramirez (father). The hardest worker, never give up attitude and gave the best advice. I still try to live up to his standards. Been gone since 2008. Never forgotten.
