Meet Trainer Moses | Fat Loss Expert

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trainer Moses and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trainer, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I had a client early on before I officially started my business who was a 16 year old high school kid. His father brought him to me because he was getting picked on at school for being overweight and the girls would laugh at him when he would attempt talking with them. So I began training him and we worked together for about 6 months. In that time he was able to lose about 30 pounds and build some muscle. He even had a little muscular definition coming in on his chest. I received a letter from the kid a couple weeks after we finished our last training session and that letter is the reason I truly decided I wanted to be involved with the fitness industry as my career. In the letter he just thanked me and told me about how much is confidence had been boosted than he can walk down the halls in school and feel good in his own skin plus the girls had begin to notice him so that was something he was excited about also. For me it just felt really good to know that I helped someone go from being depressed and shy to being confident and outgoing. I knew I had the skill set to help people but reading the letter put my heart in it as well and gave me the desire to help as many people as I can accomplish and demolish their fitness goals.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is called Promise Land Fitness and I help beginners lose 15-30 pounds while building lean muscle. I am a follower of Christ and my name is Trainer Moses so that’s how we came up with the Promise Land connection, but I promise it won’t take my clients 40 years to see results lol. I’m excited about the opportunity to build a platform and a community that not only promotes A healthy body but also a healthy mind and soul as well. I believe spiritual health is just as important as physical health.
Covid did disrupt business quite a bit because I had 14 clients that I would train in person but all of that ended when the world shut down and people were encouraged to not meet in person. My mentor encouraged me to shift and invest in a App and I did! My team and I launched the Trainer Moses App! It’s a one stop shop for health and wellness. We have programs for Nutrition only for those who need help identified healthy foods and learning how to put together and grocery list plus healthy recipes. We also have a program with Fitness + Nutrition Plan that way Trainer Moses can guide you via video programing while you’re at the gym. Next option is a 90 day weight loss program. We have designed everything to be progressive that because the goal is to help my clients my health and wellness a total lifestyle change not just a fad or flash diet.
Putting together the app was not easy because I’m not much of a tech person so I did have a lot of help with it plus I filmed over 150 workout videos for the fitness programing. I overcame the challenges by seeking advice and working with people who were experts in the areas that I had little expertise in.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way is anything in life is possible and networking is key. Developing the skill of being able to genuinely connect with people and build professional relationships has opened many doors.
I want the world to know that it is okay to be physically fit and be a follower of Christ. A lot of times people will sexualize a person who’s fit and in shape and just assume things about how they live their life. I’d encourage you that it’s okay to make physical health a priority as long as you make you Spiritual health a priority as well. It’s been a journey for me learn this because at a time I thought I’d have to get out of the fitness industry if I wanted to follow Christ (I was told this several times) but I know it’s not the case. I look at it just like working out, when you’re consistent it gets easier it’s natural. Once you miss a week or two weeks then it’s harder to start back and it takes a little time for your body to readjust. Much like spiritual life if I stay in my Word daily it’s easier to follow Christ and live according to His will. I look forward to speaking more on topics like these.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh yes 100% I have a mentor that really helped me get things together. I was inspired to work in the fitness industry but wasn’t sure if it was going to be something I can do full-time as I was also building my career in another industry. My mentor challenged me to look at someone in my current career who’s about 10-15 years ahead of me on the corporate ladder and ask myself if I would like to have their life. If the answer is yes then keep doing what I’m doing and stay close to them but If the answer is no I need to immediately stop climbing that corporate ladder. For me the answer was definitely no I did not want to be working 12 hour shifts 6 days a week for the rest of my life until “retirement.” I am thankful I had a mentor who could speak this into my life and encourage me to start building a business that I own but most importantly a business that adds value to people.
