Meet Tramica Thomas | FNP-BC, FNP-C

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tramica Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tramica, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been providing beauty with a purpose. As a Black woman and a veteran, I’ve learned how to lead with discipline, show up with integrity, and adapt through adversity. I didn’t just build a business I built a mission. TruBeaute Aesthetics and Wellness was founded on the belief that everyone deserves to feel empowered in their own skin, and that healing, beauty, and wellness are not luxuries they’re necessities.
Every setback became a setup for a stronger comeback. I brought the same commitment and grit from the military into entrepreneurship, and combined it with heart, cultural pride, and an unwavering drive to serve my community. What sets my brand apart is the intentionality every service we offer is rooted in care, representation, and excellence.
At the end of the day, my success didn’t come from luck it came from showing up every day, staying grounded in my values, and refusing to shrink in spaces I was meant to lead.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my career in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and I’m proud of that. That role taught me humility, compassion, and the power of presence lessons that have stayed with me every step of the way. Over the past 14+ years, I’ve climbed every rung of the healthcare ladder with grit, faith, and an unshakable drive to serve. Today, I stand as a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner and the founder of TruBeaute Aesthetics and Wellness, a place where beauty meets wellness and purpose meets professionalism.
What sets me apart is not just my clinical background it’s my lived experience. As a Black woman, a veteran, a mother, and a provider, I’ve walked through rooms where I had to create my own seat at the table. That resilience shaped how I lead, how I care, and how I build. I’m most proud of creating a space where clients feel seen, valued, and empowered — whether they’re here for aesthetic services, weight loss support, or simply to feel good in their own skin.
The road wasn’t easy. I juggled school, motherhood, military service, and work often all at once. There were moments of burnout and doors that didn’t open right away. But I kept going. I learned that your background doesn’t limit you it builds you. I leaned on my faith, my family, and my purpose. Every challenge was a setup for something greater.
What I want the world to know is this: TruBeaute isn’t just about outward beauty it’s about healing, confidence, and honoring your journey. We’re a veteran-owned, Black woman-led brand that represents excellence, integrity, and authenticity. Our story is rooted in service, and our mission is to help others rise, just like I did one step at a time.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to town, just know we’re doing it BIG and doing it RIGHT! I’d make sure they experience the beauty, flavor, and soul of the Houston–Clear Lake–Galveston area from a local’s perspective with a little TruBeaute twist, of course.
Day 1 – Self-Care + Welcome Dinner
We’re starting with a visit to TruBeaute Aesthetics and Wellness because what better way to kick off a week than glowing from the inside out? A little Botox, IV hydration, or even a wellness consultation sets the tone. Then we’d head to Perry’s Steakhouse or Steak 48 for a luxe welcome dinner and cocktails.
Day 2 – Brunch, Museums & Rooftop Vibes
Brunch at The Breakfast Klub a Houston classic! From there, we’d visit the Museum of African American Culture and explore the art and history that tells our stories. End the night with rooftop drinks at Z on 23 or High & Dry, watching the skyline light up.
Day 3 – Beach Day in Galveston
We’d hit the island for a day trip sunbathing on Galveston Beach, seafood lunch at The Spot, then visit the Juneteenth Legacy Project and The Strand for shopping and sightseeing. We’d unwind at Number 13 with a waterfront dinner and wine.
Day 4 – Wellness Wednesday
We’d start the day with smoothies or fresh juice, then maybe yoga or a walk at Buffalo Bayou Park. Back to TruBeaute for a mid-week glow-up — Tox, lip filler, or just girl talk and good energy at one of our events like Wine Down Wednesday. Later, a chill night with wine and music at Pur Noire Urban Wineries — a Black-owned gem.
Day 5 – Third Ward Culture Day
We’d explore Third Ward: local Black-owned shops, Project Row Houses, and a stop at Ray’s BBQ Shack for some real southern flavor. Maybe even a little thrifting or vintage shopping. That night? Live music and cocktails at Scott Gertner’s Rhythm Room.
Day 6 – Adventure + Aesthetic Vibes
A full TruBeaute experience maybe dermaplaning or microneedling, depending on their vibe. Then off to Kemah Boardwalk for food, fun, and waterside views. Evening dinner at Liberty Kitchen or Grace’s casual, classy, and always good energy.
Day 7 – Church, Brunch & Goodbyes
We’d close out the week with a morning church service because we’ve got to give God His time. Then one final Sunday brunch at Taste Kitchen + Bar mimosas, good music, and great food. Maybe squeeze in some last-minute shopping at Rice Village or The Galleria before airport hugs and see-you-soons.
Houston and the surrounding areas are full of hidden gems, culture, and powerful community energy. Whether it’s wellness, beauty, food, or fun, I’d make sure my best friend feels the love, the flavor, and the TruBeaute touch all week long.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I have to give all honor and glory to God. None of this would be possible without His grace, guidance, and favor over my life. Every open door, every challenge overcome, every lesson learned it’s all been part of a divine plan that continues to unfold.
I also have to shout out my incredible family. My husband and children have been my rock and my biggest cheerleaders. They’ve shown so much love, patience, and understanding through every late night, every sacrifice, and every win.
I’m deeply grateful for the mentors and fellow veterans who saw something in me early on and helped me navigate this journey with strength and confidence. Their wisdom has been priceless.
My TruBeaute team deserves a huge thank you as well they show up every day with excellence and purpose, helping bring the vision to life. And lastly, to my amazing clients, thank you for trusting us. You are the heartbeat of this brand.
This journey is not just about business it’s about purpose, faith, and community. I’m just grateful to be walking in it.
