We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevon Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trevon, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
This is a loaded question and I could go many different directions in answering this to be honest. My answer for this question is between God and the support system I was blessed to have around me. God has been there for me every step of the way. From the days where I first started learning about photography all the way up to now. God has blessed me with the talent of photography and putting me in the right spaces to elevate. There are many factors that have led to the success of my brand but without God’s blessings I would not even be here to answer these questions. That is the long version of my answer. The short answer for those who don’t like reading is : God.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is special since it is a piece of art and a snapshot in time. Most people see photography as just a hobby but I realized there is a real market for photography. It was not easy getting to this point. There were days where it was tough to keep going day to day. One of the lessons I learned is to focus on the present. When you start thinking too far ahead or worrying about the previous shoot you can lose focus. You can only control the moment you are presently in. You need to put all your energy into making that current moment or current photoshoot the best you can. I want the world to know that they can be the next big star. Since the rise of social media, everyone has the platform to become the next star on social media. Then the challenge becomes separating yourself from everyone else. Everyone wants to put there best side of themselves out there to become the one to blow up. This is where Trey Photography can help you separate yourself from the crowds and get to that next level.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I was going to show my friend the best time ever. I would start by taking them to breakfast at the Breakfast Klub. Then maybe go down to the Japanese Garden in Hermann Park. After that it would be time to eat again then we can go get seafood at Goode Company Seafood. I would definitely recommend the seafood gumbo and combo po boy for lunch. Then we can go out again to the Contemporary Arts Museum and the Hawkins Sculpture Garden. Once the night time comes around we can ride scooters through downtown Houston. If there’s time we can go to Taste Bar + Kitchen to finish off the meals for the day. There are many more places to go and things to do but I can only fit so much into one trip.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many people I want to dedicate my shoutout to. I would first like to shoutout my family for believing in my photography business from the beginning. Even though it isn’t the most conventional job I’ve had my family has always been there to support my dreams. I would also like to shoutout my friends for always promoting and recommending my work whenever they can. Every time they share a post of mine it can lead to a big break. Therefore I would like to shout them out like how they do for me.
