We had the good fortune of connecting with Trisha Ekhator and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trisha, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Honestly, I will say you have to be very consistent in everything that you do, I understand it takes a lot to have a business but once you start you have to keep going no matter what even on your low days. You will see growth as you go because day by day you get better and improve more.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Growing up I always had love for fashion especially my dressing wise , I always wanted to be different from other people because I felt like everyone was doing the same thing . My proudest moment overall is when people ask me how I started my business and when I tell them they all get so surprised. How I got to where I am right now was a long process that came with so much ups and downs but overall it’s all worth it because I have dedicated so much to be very consistent in all my work pieces that I drop . Never get too comfortable the process and growth continues, sometimes when certain things don’t work out I try other options, I don’t settle for one I always have multiple back ups in case . Running a business is not easy but I promise you whatever you set your mind on will shall come to pass . I have learned so much along the way realizing every loss will turn out to be a bigger win if you keep going without giving up and most importantly prayers help. Being creative comes with so much to offer . My brand started of with $5 in high school I started making some ripped mom jeans from the thrift store , slowly I got into making bow ties and waisted beads . The high school that I went to we are required to wear tie’s and not everyone was willing to wear that and I came up with an idea of making bow ties . My mom designs clothes I used to collect all her remaining pieces from what she got left from designing people’s clothes and turn them into bow ties with just needle and thread .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I am into art I will take them to various art museums , take them out to eat , try wine tasting because I Am a big fan of good wines. We can some paint and sip , try some taco spot or even go shopping as well .
