Meet Tuyet Nguyen | Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tuyet Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tuyet, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly, I never planned to get into the nail industry. My family has owned nail salons in different locations, so I’ve seen firsthand the hard work, complexity, and challenges that come with managing staff and dealing with customers all day. It wasn’t something I initially wanted to take on.
However, my husband has always been fascinated by business operations, and since we’re both entrepreneurs, this became another venture he decided to pursue. Before I knew it, the lease was signed! At that point, as his wife and business partner, I had to support what he committed us to. So here we are, navigating this journey together!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets us apart from others is that we are not your typical nail salon. It’s personal, and it’s all about the experience from the moment you step through our doors. We take pride in creating an inviting atmosphere where customers feel welcomed, valued, and connected.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how far we’ve come. When we started this business, we had no idea how to run a nail salon. Yet, here we are, almost four years in, having built not just a business but lasting relationships with our customers—many of whom we now call friends. We love being able to have real conversations and make everyone feel at home.
Our journey hasn’t been easy. We opened our doors during COVID, facing challenges like not having customers and struggling to find nail technicians to work. The first year was incredibly tough, and we barely made an income. But through it all, we learned that as long as you have faith, believe in yourself, and put your heart into what you do, success will follow.
If you’re reading this and you’re in Houston or visiting, we’d love for you to stop by and experience it for yourself. Just mention this Shoutout article when you visit—we’d love to meet you!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend is visiting the area, I’d definitely recommend checking out Chinatown for an amazing selection of Asian food, desserts, and boba drinks. Whether you’re craving Vietnamese, Chinese, or Korean cuisine, there’s something for everyone!
If you’re in the mood for a great steak, Steak 48 is a must-visit. For shopping, The Galleria and Memorial Mall are perfect spots to explore.
For entertainment, I’d suggest visiting the Color Factory Houston or Seismique for an immersive and fun experience. If you enjoy the outdoors, Discovery Green, Hermann Park, and Buffalo Bayou Park are great places to relax and take in the city. And, of course, if there’s a big event or game happening, NRG Stadium is the place to be!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my mom, my mother- and father-in-law, our family members, friends, and our amazing contractors who supported us every step of the way. From babysitting our kids during those long construction nights to cooking home-cooked meals that kept us going, your support truly meant the world to us. A special thanks to everyone who helped with furniture assembly, cleanup, IT setup, sourcing the perfect nail supplies, and, of course, our incredible contractors who brought our vision to life. We couldn’t have done this without each and every one of you—thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
