We had the good fortune of connecting with Ty Pickett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ty, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The thing about risk taking is that it is very necessary , how do you know how far you can go in life IF you don’t take risk ? I use to be afraid of taking risk, until i realized that I needed to take chances and put myself out there rather I failed or not .

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from others is that I’m not the type of person to rush. If I am into something I wanna take my time learning that specific thing in and out. I want to perfect it . What I am most proud of is how far I have came and how much I have learned with my craft , I have learned so much and I still have long ways to go with it and it haven’t been easy but I love a good challenge, especially if I am into it . I just push through it even tho at times I do feel like giving up, but I have to remind myself this is what I love and what I wanna do.
Oh man the lessons I have learned, it’s so many, but the most important lesson I have learned is to NEVER give up and always thrive no matter what !
There’s not much I want the world to know about me …yet at least lol just that I’m just your average Houston photographer and that I’m still learning and still progressing

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Haha that’s a good one because I am a home body lol. I honestly don’t get out much so I don’t know any cool spots off the top of my head , I would honestly just go to yelp and look for places hahaha

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s a few people In my life that has made me who I am today , mainly my wife Tina , my mom Tara, and few close Friends Iv learned a lot for each one of them.
