We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyria Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyria, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
The definition of success for me is having the freedom to:: – fulfill my purpose of helping other women embrace self-love as I show them how to reject fear so they too can walk in their purpose. – live my life to the fullest on my own terms – choose how I spend my time with no limitations – live every day with no fear of the outcome

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve been in busy for less than 5 years. It hasn’t been an easy journey to get to where I am today, but I’ve learned so much along the way. Although it hasn’t been easy, but every day I reminded myself of why I am doing it. There are women out there who need to hear my message that they don’t have to allow the past to paralyze them. They don’t have to allow what they’ve been through to keep them from being all that they were created to be. They have the ability to not just walk in their purpose, but also to help others along the way. I’ve learned that it’s ok not to know everything. When I first started in business, I had no idea what I needed to do to be successful, so I asked for help. Another thing I learned is that it’s important to have a support system filled with people who will encourage and motivate you on the hard days when you feel like giving up on your dream. I’d like the world to know that each of us has a story to share and our purpose is found in that story. No matter what we’ve been through, we can use all of our experiences to reach our destiny. It is my mission to help every woman on my path to see that she is destined for greatness. It’s my desire to help every woman to embrace self-love and reject fear so she can walk in her God-given purpose.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the beach and anything outdoors. If my best friend came for a visit, we’d have to go to Corpus Christi for a few days. In the days before we leave for our trip to the beach, I’d show her around the city. I love Houston because there is so much to do here. We’d start at Discovery Green and then. hop around to the museum district since we have some amazing ones here like: The Houston Museum of African American Culture. We both love trying great food, so of course a dinner at The Taste of Texas would definitely be on the itinerary. There’s also a vendor truck called Krave Funnel Cones that she absolutely has to try. They have a delicious way of mixing funnel cake and ice cream. It’s to die for. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I give honor to God for the path that He set me on to walk in the purpose He’s given me to fulfill. I’d like to thank my oldest children: Patrick, Tyania, Kieana and Kiara. They have supported me throughout this journey as I stepped out on faith to follow the dream of sharing our story. Secondly, I’d also like to acknowledge my husband, Kenneith. He saw the dream in me even before I did. He spoke into my life and helped me to see that there was greatness inside me and helped me to have the courage to share my message with the world.
